What: Week 6 TNF Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans
When: 8:25PM EST. Thursday. October 11, 2012
Where: LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee
The 2012 week 6 TNF game is a matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans. The Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2, 1-3 ATS) had a week 4 bye, then beat the Eagles (16-14) last week. The Tennessee Titans (1-4, 1-4 ATS) are in last place in the AFC South, and will be hosting the game at LP Field. Let’s take a look at the latest 2012, week 6 TNF betting lines.
Week 6 Thursday Night Football Betting Lines: Steelers vs. Titans
Pittsburgh opened as a -4.5 point favorite on Sunday when the TNF betting lines were released. Early action has come in on Pittsburgh and the point spread is now up to -6 points. I expect the point spread to increase to -6.5 pts, so if you like the Steelers, it’s probably smart to get your bets in right away.

Week Six TNF: Point Spread Betting Analysis
The Pittsbrugh Steelers won 16-14 against Philadelphia last week on a last-second field goal kick. The defense played great despite losing Troy Polamalu in the 1st quarter of last week’s match-up. Polamalu has already been ruled out this week and Woodley is still questionable.
Even without Polamalu, the Steelers defense was able to shut down the Eagles offense at home. The Steelers defense now ranks 4th against the pass (184.8 PYPG), 11th against the run (95.2 RYPG) and 16th in points allowed (22.2 PPG) this season.
The Pittsburgh offense struggled against the Eagles with the lone bright spot being Mendenhall. He played in his first game of the season last week and gained 81 rushing yards and a TD on 14 carries, but his carries were definitely monitored.
The Tennessee Titans were just blown out on the road against the Vikings 30-7 and Hasselbeck didn’t look good in his 1st start. He was only able to complete 26/43 passes for 200 passing yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Chris Johnson had just 24 rushing yards on 15 carries.
Tennessee now ranks 16th in passing yards (239.6 PYPG), 30th in rushing yards (65.4 RYPG) and 27th in points scored (17.6 PPG). I can’t imagine the Titans being able to score many points against the Steelers defense who’ve been strong all season long.
The Steelers offense has been quiet this season and ranks in the middle of the pack in most categories. The good news is that the Titans that rank 25th in passing yards (279.6 PYPG), 28th in rushing yards (144.2 RYPG) and 32nd in points allowed (36.2 PPG).
This week 6 TNF game could be a great opportunity for the Steelers offense to take a step forward.
Titans vs. Steelers TNF Point Spread Predictions
• Bet on Pittsburgh Steelers -6 (-110) @ BetOnline
This won’t be the most exciting TNF match-up, but I think it’s a good game to wager on. I’ve bet on Pittsburgh to cover against the spread of -6 (-110) at BetOnline because their defense should be able to shut down the Titans offense.
Defensively, the Titans can’t stop anyone and I expect Mendenhall to get more carries this week. He looked good in his 1st game back in action and I expect him to rush for 100+ rushing yards this week against the horrible Titans rushing defense.
Those of you that want to back the Titans against the spread should bet at the Bovada Sportsbook where you can get +6 (-105).
Thursday night games are sometimes unpredictable and crazy, but I expect a low scoring game with the Steelers winning by 7-10 pts.
Week 6 Thursday Night Football Over/Under Odds
As of Thursday morning at 1:00am EST, the week 6 TNF over/under is 43.5 (-110) on either side. I expect a low scoring game in the range of 23-13 up to 27-17. This is a range of 36-44 total points, so I like the under in this game.
Bet the under of 43.5 (-110) at BetOnline.com.
