The Chicago Bears (5-4 / 5-4 ATS) host the Minnesota Vikings (3-5 / 5-3 ATS) in NFL week 10 action.
These NFC North rivals will play on Monday Night Football (MNF) to close out the week. These two teams are very familiar with each other and this should be an extremely close game.
With the expectation that this game will be close, I’ll be targeting a few Vikings vs. Bears prop bets.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears Betting Lines
Let’s first take a look at the betting lines and movement for this match-up.
We’ve seen a ton of line movement for this game. The Bears actually opened up as a -2 favorite, but the line has moved in favor of the Vikings and they’re now favored by a FG (-3) at Bovada.
The total has seen some movement as well. The total opened at 45 points and is now 43 points.
Chicago have played under the total in six of nine games this season, while the Vikings have gone over the total in six of eight games. The under is 5-1 in the last six H2H games in Chicago.
Vikings vs. Bears Betting Preview and ATS Pick
Before I get into my Monday Night Football prop predictions, let’s analyze these two teams. I’ll also share my best bet to cover against the spread on Monday Night Football for week 10.
- Points Scored: Vikings 27.1 PPG (12th) vs. Bears 19.8 PPG (29th)
- Passing Yards (OFF): Vikings 221.6 PYPG (25th) vs. Bears 235.4 PYPG (20th)
- Rushing Yards (OFF): Vikings 160.4 RYPG (3rd) vs. Bears 82.3 RYPG (32nd)
- Points Allowed: Vikings 29.3 PPG (25th) vs. Bears 21.1 PPG (7th)
- Passing Yards (DEF): Vikings 287.9 PYPG (30th) vs. Bears 218.2 PYPG (7th)
- Rushing Yards (DEF): Vikings 125.0 RYPG (20th) vs. Bears 116.9 RYPG (14th)
- Turnover Margin: Vikings -3 (22nd) vs. Bears -3 (22nd)
Apart from Dalvin Cook, both of these offenses have struggled mightily this season.
Cook has been on a rampage, though. He has 858 rushing yards and 12 rushing TDs already. He has also caught 16 passes for 173 yards and 1 TD. He has 369 rushing yards the past two weeks.
Can the Bears defense stop him? I doubt it, as they’ve been average against the run. However, they did just limit Derrick Henry to 68 rushing yards on 21 carries (3.2 YPR).
Will we see Mitchell Trubisky again in 2020? It’s looking more and more likely, as Nick Foles has been terrible. He puts up some garbage time numbers, but that’s all he has been doing.
Last week, the Bears lost on the road to the Titans by a touchdown (24-17). Looks close at a glance, but the Bears were held scoreless until the fourth quarter and were down 17-0.
The Bears offense is a complete disaster and getting the Vikings at -3 is a gift.
Big Win, Little Win Prop Bet
This is a fun prop bet that allows you to bet on a team winning big or small.
Minnesota have struggled against the Bears in recent years. Chicago have actually swept the Vikes in the head-to-head season series the past two years. They went 3-1 ATS in those four wins.
However, this is a bad Bears team. The defense isn’t playing bad, but the offense can’t even move the football most of the game and that’s not going to change until they get some talent.
If the Vikings can get up early and then have Cook run through the Bears defense, this one could get ugly. The Bears could score some garbage time points, but this bet is still worth the risk.
I’m betting on the Vikings to win by 14+ points at better than 3/1 odds at Bovada. You can find this bet under the Vikings-Bears game props, along with dozens of other markets.
Vikings-Bears Team to Score First Prop
I’ll also be betting on the Vikings to score first.
Chicago have only scored first in two of their games this season. The Bears haven’t scored first in a game since defeating the Panthers. They haven’t scored first during the three-game losing streak.
Minnesota needs to get out to a quick start on the road to control this game. After starting 1-5, the Vikes have won two games in a row and it’s because they’re utilizing Cook more effectively.
