Titans vs. Texans Over/Under Picks Week 17

Tennessee Titans(10-5) @ Houston Texans(4-11)

  • Where: NRG Stadium. Houston, TX
  • When: January 3, 2021 4:00 pm EST
  • Spread: Titans -7.5 (-110) vs. Texans +7.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Titans (-360) vs. Texans (+280)
  • Over / Under: Over 56.5 Points (-110) vs. Under 56.5 Points (-110)

Titans vs. Texans Total PredictionThe Houston Texans (4-11 / 5-10 ATS) host the Tennessee Titans (10-5 / 7-8 ATS) on Sunday.

It’s the final week of the NFL regular season and all sixteen games will be played on Sunday. There’s no TNF or MNF games this week. A lot of teams don’t have anything to play at this point.

Only two NFL divisions haven’t been won yet and the AFC South is one of them.

The Titans have the same record as the Colts (10-5). Tennessee are first place in the division, but the Colts could win the division if they win on Sunday and the Titans lose.

Can the Texans play spoiler after a terrible season? Houston are tied with the Cowboys and Eagles for the worst ATS record in 2020. They’ve also lost four consecutive games.

The only other NFL division that hasn’t been decided at this point is the NFC East. Washington is leading the division, but the Cowboys still have a chance to win the division.

Tennessee Titans vs. Houston Texans Betting Lines

Bet on NFL week 17 action at Bovada.lv to get the best odds.

The point spread has jumped a lot in this match-up already and it’s only Wednesday evening.

Tennessee opened up as a -4.5 point favorite, but they’re now a -7.5 point favorite. The public has been hammering the Titans, as they still have something to play for.

However, at -7.5 points, there’s no way I’d be betting on the Titans to cover ATS.

The over/under interests me a lot more. The Titans vs. Texans game total opened up at 56 points and has been bet up a ½ point (56.5 Points). The sharps have been betting the under, though.

The Titans are tied for first place with 11 overs this season, but there are several reasons to jump on the under in this AFC South match-up and we’re going to take a look at those now.

Three Reasons the Titans vs. Texans Will Stay Under

Here are three reasons I’m betting the under in the Titans vs. Texans week 17 game on Sunday.

Henry is going to lead the NFL in rushing yards again. He already has 1777 rushing yards and the Titans are averaging 160.1 RYPG (2nd) as a team. Henry will likely get 25+ carries on Sunday.

Houston have struggled stopping the run this season. They’re allowing 151.7 RYPG (31st).

Ryan Tannehill is capable of opening up the game through the air, but will the Titans risk it? They have an easy path to victory by running the football and killing the clock.

The Texans are scoring 23.1 PPG (21st) this season. They’re coming off a good performance, as they were able to score 31 points on Cincy, but the Texans offense has struggled lately in most games.

In the three games prior to last week, the Texans failed to score more than 20 points.

After the Bengals lose, J.J. Watt went on another rant detailing his frustration with his teammates this season. Will that be enough to fuel the Texans defense in the final week of the season?

I think it will. Watt is the leader of the Texans defense and I expect them to rally around him in the final game of the season, especially since they have a chance to spoil the Titans playoff chances.

With such a high total, the Texans defense doesn’t need to be perfect, they just need to play with some heart. They can’t allow any big play TDs or this game could end up ugly early on.

Bet the Titans Moneyline on NFL Week 17 Parlays

Tennessee are big favorites, so betting them straight-up on the moneyline isn’t ideal as a straight wager, but the Titans are going to be one of my top banker bets on parlays this weekend.

Henry is going to have a lot of success running the football and once the Titans build up a lead, the Texans aren’t going to be able to comeback. I love Tennessee to win this game and the AFC South.

Be cautious with your NFL week 17 parlay bets because a lot of teams aren’t playing for anything.
