Most CFB handicappers expect the undefeated #2 Kansas State to knock off #24 Oklahoma State, but will they cover the -9.5 spread? If they can, it will be their sixth straight ATS win, and their third victory over a ranked opponent in as many weeks. A convincing win against the Cowboys would also go a long way towards securing the Big 12 title and possibly, a much bigger prize.

OK State also has plenty riding on this match up. A win in Manhattan would put the Big 12 crown up for grabs, and the Cowboys could be in place to catch it.

Oklahoma State Betting Lines and Analysis

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are one of those teams that’s been improving all season, and this is their biggest test. With QB Wes Lunt back under for just the second time in eight weeks, they’ve got the tools they need to compete with the K-State onslaught.

Lunt had a great opportunity to shake off the rust last week when the Cowboys topped TCU 36-14. In that effort Lunt completed 18-33 for 324 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. His offense did, however, give up two turnovers to the Horned Frogs and that’s a mistake they won’t be able to make against K-State.

Defensively, the Cowboys have been holding opponents to just 12.6 points/game over their last three outings and have been very effective stopping opponents on third down. That’s exactly what they’ll need if they’re hoping to slow down K-State’s explosive offense.

There’s no room for error this week and that’s a standard the Cowboys could, potentially live up to this week.

Kansas State Betting Lines and Analysis

Kansas State is the unexpected powerhouse of the Big 12 and already have three wins over ranked opponents this season. While they’ve definitely been hitting on all cylinders, it’s senior QB Collin Klein (117-165, 1630 yards, 12 TD’s, 2 INT’s) who’s getting all the attention. This kid is passing, running and managing his game with incredible efficiency.

Over their past two games, the Wildcats beat two ranked opponents by an average of 36 points. If they put up another win of that caliber, they’ll have a straight shot to some major action in postseason play.

We like the fact that the Wildcat defense is only giving up 17 points per game on a schedule that isn’t exactly soft. They forced three turnovers against Texas Tech last week, and bettors can expect more of the same this week.

In short, K-State is playing some pretty spectacular football and could easily overwhelm the Cowboys in a home field feeding frenzy.

Betting Lines & Free Picks: 11/3/2012

Big time games like this tend to bring out inexperienced bettors and drive some pretty weird odds. So far, this one has stayed pretty sane, but that probably won’t last through the week. My advice is this, if you see odds you like on this game, jump on them before they go away.

Oklahoma St. vs Kansas St. Point Spread Pick

The Kansas State vs Oklahoma State point spread opened with the Wildcats as 7 point favorites, then quickly jumped to 9 or 9.5. I liked -7 a lot better than -9 and would take the Cowboys at anything higher than 9. OK State is the real deal and will definitely give K-State a game. If you can find the Wildcats at -9 or lower, grab it. Otherwise, go with the Cowboys. Keep in mind, Kansas State is 7-1 ATS this year, and that’s hard to go against.

My Pick: Kansas State -9 (-110) at BetOnline.com

Money Line Pick

It’s hard to pick against the steamrolling Wildcats, especially when they’re playing in Manhattan. This should be a fairly close game, and I expect Kansas State to win SU, but the best money line is -340. I don’t see value in the K-State money line, so I’ll be staying away from it.

The best Oklahoma State money line is +290 at BetOnline, and I’d take this bet if I weren’t taking Kansas State on the point spread. I see some value here, so if you like OSU to win SU, I wouldn’t argue against it.

OSU vs. K-State Over/Under Pick

At the time I write this, the OSU vs. K-State over/under is 66.5 (-110) on either side at BetOnline and JustBet.

I see these teams slugging it out all night, but nobody is going to run up the score. Kansas State is 4-3 on the over/under this year, while Oklahoma State is 3-3. Both of these defenses have consistently kept their opponents under 24 points, except an Oklahoma loss to Texas 5 weeks ago (gave up 36). Everything considered, defenses should be stout in this game, and I expect the total to go under.

My Oklahoma State vs Kansas State Over/Under Pick: Under 66.5 (-110) at BetOnline.com
