NBA playoffs Saturday betting preview and parlay predictions

NBA Playoffs Saturday Betting Preview

THERE are four NBA playoff games on Saturday, April 25th 2015, although none of the series are close.

I’m going to preview each of the four games and suggest my best bets for each match-up, plus at the end I’ll share my parlay predictions for Saturday’s match-ups.

The series may not be close, but there’s still money to be made in the markets.

Atlanta Hawks look to extend series to 3-0 against the Brooklyn Nets

Game 3 Tip-Off: Saturday, April 25th 2015 at 3:05pm ET
Venue: Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City

The Atlanta Hawks (2-0) and Brooklyn Nets (0-2) open up the Saturday schedule in the afternoon.

Here are the betting odds:

Atlanta have started the playoffs just how they wanted – with two comfortable wins at home. The Hawks are scoring an average of 97.5 PPG and allowing 91.5 PPG against the Nets – slightly worse than their regular season averages.

Brooklyn’s defense has been holding tight, but the offense has struggled. During the regular season the Nets scored 98.0 PPG (21st), but they’ve been held considerably less this series. Atlanta have a big edge when the starters are out on the court.

Al Horford has had a double-double in both games, Kyle Korver is averaging 19.0 PPG and Jeff Teague is averaging 16.5 PPG.

The Nets are a mess. Brooklyn have turned the basketball over an average of 16.5 times per game. Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez are playing well, plus Jarrett Jack has been a huge spark off the bench, but the Hawks are going to win game 3.

My best bet in the Hawks vs. Nets in game 3 is Atlanta by –2.5 points at Bovada.

Chicago Bulls will attempt to end series with Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday

Game 4 Tip-Off: Saturday, April 25th 2015 at 5:35pm ET
Venue: BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Milwaukee (0-3) played well in game 3, but it ended up not being enough, as the Chicago Bulls (3-0) won in double overtime.

Chicago’s a fairly small favorite to end this first round series – here are the odds:

The Bucks held a sizable lead at one point, but the Bulls chipped away at the lead until they took the lead. Milwaukee outscored Chicago in the final quarter to force OT and the Bulls finally pulled away, thanks in large part to Derrick Rose (34 points).

Giannis Antetokounmpo (25 points and 12 rebounds) and Michael Carter-Williams (19 points and 9 assists) both were great in game 3, after starting the series slowly. Khris Middleton continued his good play, but the Bucks aren’t on the same level as Chicago.

Whether it’s on offense or defense – the Bulls are outclassing the Bucks in every conceivable way.

My best bet is on the Bulls to end the series and cover ATS (-5) at Bodog, as the Bucks will fold after the double OT loss. It’s tough coming back from a loss like that when the series is practically over.

Golden State Warriors will eliminate New Orleans Pelicans in game 4

Game 4 Tip-Off: Saturday, April 25th 2015 at 8:05pm ET
Venue: Smoothie King Center in Louisiana, New Orleans

The New Orleans Pelicans (0-3) are another team I believe have nothing left in the tank and Golden State Warriors (3-0) will finish the sweep. The Pelicans were up 20 points in the 4th quarter in game 3, but they ended up losing in overtime (123-119).

The latest gambling lines in GSW at NOP are as followed:

I don’t have too much to say about this match-up, as I’m not interested from a betting standpoint. I have a bet on the Warriors to win in four games, so I’ll be leaving it at that. The point spread of –7.5 is a little too high to interest me tomorrow night.

A complete blowout wouldn’t shock me though. The Pelicans should have hung on to win game 3, but after blowing such a big lead there is no way they’ll be able to bounce back. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will put this series to sleep.

Can the Portland Trail Blazers bounce back against the Memphis Grizzlies at home?

Game 3 Tip-Off: Saturday, April 25th 2015 at 10:35pm ET
Venue: Moda Center in Portland, Oregon

The Portland Trail Blazers (0-2) head home down two against the Memphis Grizzlies (0-2) in the West.

Here are the money line, point spread and over/under odds:

Memphis have dominated the series up to this point, thanks to being efficient and playing great defense.

Zach Randolph has a double-double in both games thus far – he’s averaging 13.0 PPG and 10.5 RPG. Mike Conley and Courtney Lee are both averaging double-digits in points in the series, while Beno Udrih is averaging 15.0 PPG off of the bench.

LaMarcus Aldridge has been the best player on either team. Aldridge is averaging 28.0 PPG and 14.0 RPG, but Damian Lillard and Robin Lopez aren’t producing like they were in the regular season. Portland lacks depth too, especially with Wesley Matthews out.

The Trail Blazers are 14 of 46 from 3-point distance in the series and they’re really missing Matthews’s perimeter shooting.

The Grizzlies don’t wow you on the offensive end, but they rely on a strong defense, which ranked #2 in points allowed during the regular season (95.1 PPG). Portland are more balanced – they score 102.8 PPG (9th) and allow 98.6 PPG (12th).

My best bet in the Grizzlies vs. Trail Blazers is on the over 188.5 points at Bodog.

NBA playoff parlay picks for Saturday, April 25th 2015

I’m simply parlaying my three best bets together for Saturday. The parlay pays close to 6/1 if all three legs win. Make sure you bet all three straight up as well at Bodog or Bovada.
