MLB 2020 Season PreviewWill there be a MLB season? That’s the big question on fans’ minds.

On Wednesday, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said, “I think it’s incumbent upon us to turn over every stone to try to play the game in 2020 if there’s any way we can in the environment.”

The plan gaining the most steam is to have all 30 teams report to Arizona to play.

Games would be played without fans and everyone involved (players, staff, TV crews, etc.) would be kept in controlled environments. Can that work? I’m undecided, but there’s hope. At this point, I assume the season would be shortened by quite a bit.

With that being said, there could be some surprises in the standings. Players will need to try and adjust to playing without fans and being quarantined, which makes this season unpredictable.

My Best Bets to Win the 2020 World Series

If this MLB season is played, it’s going to look different than we’ve ever seen.

No one has any idea how the season could look and in my opinion the best way to target futures bets right now is to look for teams that have value and could surprise us in a shortened season.

Here are two teams I’ve placed bets on:

The LAA are going to have a scary middle of the line-up. The Angels signed Anthony Rendon to a huge contract to pair with Mike Trout. Justin Upton and Shohei Ohtani are both healthy too.

Pitching is going to be the problem for the Angels, but they brought in a few arms. They still lack a true ace, although Ohtani is expected to be back on the mound if this season gets underway.

With all the struggles the Angels have had with Trout, I’m positive they would be motivated to try and make a World Series run even if the stadiums were empty.

The Blue Jays are planning on having a young roster in 2020 with plenty of studs.

Vladimir Guerrero, Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio and Lourdes Gurriel are all promising talents. These four guys alone could push the Blue Jays offense into the top 10.

The young guys are going to be ready to go and there has been talks about more doubleheaders being played to get through the season, which would be another edge for Toronto.

Pitching is a concern, but they did sign multiple arms, including Hyun-Jin Ryu.

MLB Players Challenge

We can hope that the MLB season gets underway eventually, even if it’s not until the fall, but there are still a lot of obstacles, with the biggest being the health of everyone involved.

In the meantime, baseball is doing everything they can think of to engage fans.

Right now they’re hosting a MLB the Show Players League. One player from every team is competing in the league and the players have already played 5-10 games each.

If you enjoy MLB the Show 20, you should definitely check it out on Twitch.

There are games scheduled daily that are all being streamed live on Twitch. You can watch some of the world’s best baseball players competing against each other in a video game.

Joey Gallo (8-0), Bo Bichette (7-1) and Gavin Lux (7-1) are leading the charge right now.

Stay tuned! Once sports start being played again, our betting coverage will pick up.
