Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley Predictions

This coming Saturday (June 9th 2012) Manny Pacquiao will fight Timothy Bradley for the WBO Welterweight Championship at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Boxing fans and even casual sports fans have been waiting for a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather bout, but that fight is looking less likely of happening in the near future.

Instead of fighting Mayweather, Pacquiao is going to take a big risk fighting the undefeated WBO Light Welterweight Champion. You can bet on the WBO Welterweight Championship fight on your Blackberry this weekend at any of the mobile sports betting sites we recommend here at MSB.

WBO Welterweight Championship Odds

• Manny Pacquiao -450 vs. Timothy Bradley +350

• Over 9.5 Rounds (-240) / Under 9.5 Rounds (+190)

Pacquiao vs. Bradley Pick

Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2 / 39 KO’a) is one of the most distinguished boxers in history and many fans are unsure why he chose to accept this fight against Bradley instead of fighting Mayweather. In Pacquiao’s last boxing match he won by majority decision against Juan Manuel Marquez, but many fans weren’t happy with the decision and thought Marquez won the fight.

Timothy Bradley (28-0 / 12 KO’s) is undefeated in his career and much younger than Pacquiao. Bradley has shown throughout his career that he has a strong chin and very good endurance. Bradley should be able to hang around in this fight and the best bet on the card this weekend is the O9.5 rounds at -240.

This fight is scheduled for 12 rounds on Saturday night. Pacquiao may be able to score a late KO victory over Bradley, but I don’t think this fight will end early. Bradley doesn’t possess that much KO power and despite being undefeated Timothy only has 12 KO victories in his career. In Pacquiao’s last 5 fights all of them have gone 12 rounds and I think this fight will go at least 10+.

Manny is going to test Bradley during the fight, but I’m convinced Bradley will survive the early onslaught. Once both fighters get settled in Bradley should be able to disrupt Pacquiao with his counterattack. Pacquiao has shown some difficulty adapting to boxers that have a good counterattack and Bradley may be able to steal a few rounds in the middle of the fight.

Pacquiao should win this fight and I don’t think his camp would have chosen Bradley if they weren’t confident that Manny could come out and win. Pacquiao needs to win as easily as possible this weekend to bounce back from his controversial fight. Beating the undefeated Bradley would be great for Pacquiao at this stage in his career, but a loss would be harmful to his future.

I’m not betting on the straight-up winner because of the juice on Pacquiao, but at -450 it isn’t that bad. Pacquiao should win this fight without too much of a worry, but Bradley will leave everything in the ring. Bradley has nothing to lose by fighting one of the best boxers in the world and if he can last 12 rounds that would even be a win in some people’s books. I’ll leave the ML market alone and simply bet on the O9.5 at -240 odds.

• Manny Pacquiao to Win at -450

• Fight to Last O9.5 Rounds at -240
