Jets vs. Bills Money Line Picks – NFL Week 2 TNF

Jets vs. Bills Week 2 TNF BettingWhen: Thursday, September 15th 2016 at 8:25 PM ET
Where: New Era Field in Orchard Park, New York
Watch: NBC

The New York Jets (0-1) opened the season with a tough loss against Cincinnati (23-22) at home, while the Buffalo Bills (0-1) lost on the road against Baltimore (13-7). Both teams will be looking for a big division win on Thursday Night Football.

It wasn’t the start either team wanted in week 1, but they’ll have to regroup quickly. That shouldn’t be a huge problem as these division rivals know each other well. Will Rex Ryan continue his success against his former team? Last year, the Bills swept the season series (2-0) – winning both games 22-17.

Jets vs. Bills ML and O/U odds

Almost all of the early money has come in on the Jets to win in Buffalo. That’s a little surprising and may be a bit of an overreaction to how poor the Bills looked against the Ravens. Despite currently having the lowest total in week 2, handicappers are betting the under early in the week.

How the Jets will win

Darrelle Revis was exposed by A.J. Green. Green had 12 receptions for 180 yards and 1 TD last week, but the rest of the Bengals offense was held in check. The Jets sacked Andy Dalton seven times for 42 yards and held the Bengals rushing attack to just 57 yards and 1 TD on 19 carries.

Bottling up LeSean McCoy and applying pressure on Tyrod Taylor is a recipe for success. McCoy only had 58 yards and 1 TD on 16 carries against the Ravens. Taylor was 15/22 for 111 yards. The Jets defense is better than the Ravens and the Jets will win by frustrating the Bills offense.

How the Bills will win

Sammy Watkins had a quiet week 1 – hauling in 4 of 6 targets for 43 yards. Watkins will likely draw a lot of match-ups against Revis and he has to beat him just like Green did in week 1. McCoy likely won’t have a lot of running room, but he’s a threat in the pass game and has to be utilized more.

Shutting down Matt Forte needs to be a priority as well. Forte gained 96 rushing yards on 22 carries and added 59 yards on 5 receptions. The rest of the offense struggled mightily. Ryan Fitzpatrick went 19/35 for 189 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. If the Bills limit Forte, they’ll have a great shot at winning.

Jets vs. Bills week 2 predictions

Rex Ryan knows how to beat his old team. Watkins is going to breakout this season and I expect him to expose the aging Revis. He may only have 6-7 receptions in this game, but look for two long TDs. Buffalo is good enough to force Fitzpatrick into costly interceptions and they can defend a lead.

There are definitely better bets this week, but if you can’t wait until Sunday, the Bills are my pick. Ryan is going to have his guys amped up for the home opener. Bettors will overreact to the Bills poor outing last week and if you paid attention to week 1, popular public plays were horrible.

Jets vs. Bills week 2 fantasy outlook

Are you playing in some DFS contests that start on Thursday this week? There isn’t much to like from a DFS standpoint in this match-up, but there are a couple options that stand out.

Watkins struggled in week 1, so his ownership levels should be even more depressed. Revis was terrible in pass coverage last week and Watkins has the talent to beat him all day if Taylor can get him the football.

With most DFS players targeting Brandon Marshall or Eric Decker in the Jets pass game, Enunwa often goes unlooked. He had 7 receptions for 54 yards and 1 TD in week 1 and he’s a cheap punt option.
