Italian Serie A Outright Betting

The Italian Serie A may have seen better days, but the football league is still recognized globally. The 2012-13 season begins later this month (August 25th 2012), which means time is running out to bet on the Italy Serie A outright betting markets.

Juventus was crowned the champion of Serie A in 2011-12 after not losing a single match. Juventus went 23-15-0 overall and this season the team improved by making several big signings. They’re the favourites to repeat in Serie A this season (2.30).

The only popular outright market in Italy is the winners market. Relegation odds and golden boot odds aren’t available to bet on at the moment, but you can bet on teams to finish T3 or T4 at most mobile gambling sites.

2012-2013 Italian Serie A Outright Winner & Relegation Betting Analysis

The battle for the outright winners market in 2012-13 should come down to how well Juventus plays. Juventus won the title last season and they definitely bring back the best squad in Serie A this season, which explains why they’re favourites.

Juventus have been busy all summer making transfers and they did a great job retaining talent. Several of the big name signings include Sebastian Giovinco (€11M), Kwadwo Asamoah (€9M) and Martin Caceres (€8M).

We already know that Juventus will have the best midfield with Marchisio, Pirlo and Vidal. Pirlo showed the world at Euro 2012 why he is regarded as one of the top midfielders in the game based on his skill set.

The attacking front of Juventus has some work to do this season, but they should be the class of the Italian Serie A. Juventus is the most decorated Serie A Champion with 28 (30) although their form in European football leagues has been poor.

AC Milan (4.00) should prove to be the biggest competition for Juventus again this season. Juventus finished with 84 points on the Serie A table while AC Milan finished only a few points behind with 80 points.

Milan lost 6 matches and was still only 4pts back on the 2011-12 Serie A table because of the draws Juventus had. The problem I see with Milan is that the team has sold a lot of star players with only a few signings during the summer transfer window.

Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are both gone from AC Milan and trying to replace these two players is tough. My money is on Juventus winning the outright winners title in Serie A in consecutive years for the 1st time since 2004-2006.

Relegation betting odds for the 2012-13 Italian Serie A season aren’t currently available at the time of writing this article. The last three teams at the end of the year will be relegated to Serie B football.

This season the relegation battle is going to be extremely tough, but we like Pescara to be relegated. Pescara is one of the new teams promoted from Serie B this year and I don’t think they’ll last long on the big stage.

Sampdoria is also likely to be relegated at the end of the 2012/13 Serie A campaign, as they were lucky to be promoted. As soon as we have betting odds on the Serie A relegation market we’ll be sure to update punters.
