We’ve got a huge SEC battle coming on Saturday, this matchup between the #2 Florida Gators and #10 Georgia Bulldogs. Their are five teams in the SEC that are undefeated or have just one loss, including the Gators and Bulldogs. Making this game even closer, the underdog is the home team.

Florida has already knocked off three ranked teams this season, including a 44-11 domination of then-#7 South Carolina Gamecocks last week. Games like that build momentum, but they also take a physical toll. However, a win on Saturday opens a clear path to the SEC East Championship.

Georgia on the other hand, has only faced one ranked opponent. That was then-#6 South Carolina, where they took a 35-7 beat down. That makes this an absolute do-or-die game for Georgia if they’ve got any shot at a top-tier bowl game or conference title.

Las Vegas and mobile sportsbooks will be seeing plenty of action on this game, so the Florida vs. Georgia betting lines will be moving all week. Keep an eye out and see where the lines are going before you place your bets.

Florida Gators Betting Lines & Analysis

Best Florida Point Spread: -7 (-105) at BetOnline.com
Best Florida Money Line: N/A

The 2012 Florida Gators are a far cry from the 6-6 Gators of last season. If they can pull out the win on Saturday they’ll be facing only one more conference test (Missouri) before the season closes. With the potential for an SEC title on the line, there’s plenty of motivation for Florida.

NCAAF bettors should look at the Gators defense and how they dominated the Gamecocks, because they’ll likely put on similar performance this week. In that outing they forced four turnovers and held SC to just 39 rushing yards. For comparison, the Bulldogs gave up 230 rushing yards to the Gamecocks.

Offensively, I like the poise and maturity shown by Gator’s sophomore QB Jeff Driskel (85-127, 929 yards, 8 TDs, 1 INT). I’m a little concerned that he’s been sacked 21 times this season, but it also points to his overall aggressiveness. With four TD’s in last week’s game, the sacks don’t seem to be hurting him much.

With a defense that can stop the Bulldogs cold and an offense that’s ready to strike at will, this is Florida’s game to lose.

Georgia Bulldogs Betting Lines & Analysis

Best Georgia Point Spread: +7 (-110) at Bovada.lv
Best Georgia Money Line: N/A

Last week Georgia barely squeaked by the 1-7 Kentucky Wildcats in a 29-24 shootout. I like that QB Aaron Murray went 30-38 for 427 yards and 4 TD’s, but beyond that, they weren’t great.

Any team hoping to knock off the #2 team in the country is not likely to give up 206 rushing yards to Kentucky. And, as mentioned above, South Carolina ran for 230 yards against the Bulldogs.

If Georgia is hoping to hang with Florida, they’ll need to seriously step up their game. You can play a sloppy game with 8 penalties for 70 yards and win against Kentucky, but that won’t fly against Florida.

The Florida Gators opened as -3.5 favorites in Vegas and online, causing a stampede of smart money to drive it up to -7. Even at a touchdown on the road, I expect Gator money to keep pushing that line throughout the week. I bet Florida when they were -4.5, and if you also like Florida in this one, I’d get my bets in fast – before the spread moves to -7.5.

Florida fronts a balanced, opportunistic offense. That means they’re going to challenge Georgia’s weak rush defense all day long, and that could spell a bad things for Georgia. Considering Florida rushed for 326 yards against Vanderbilt, they might run circles around the Bulldogs.

I recommend Florida -7 (-105) at BetOnline.com.

Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs Money Line

At the time I’m writing this post (Thursday @ 1:00pm EST), none of the top sportsbooks have posted Florida vs. Georgia money line odds.

It’s hard for me to picture a scenario where the Gators don’t utterly dominate the Bulldogs in this game. If they can frustrate Florida’s passing game, the Gators can fall back on a dominating running game. It’s a serious mismatch that isn’t likely to be close. With that said, none of the major books have Florida vs. Georgia money lines posted yet, so we don’t have anywhere to make this bet.

Florida vs Georgia Over/Under

At the time I write this, the Florida vs. Georgia over/under is 47.5 (-110) on either side at BetOnline.com. The Bovada Sportsbook has yet to post their over/under odds.

I’m expecting this game to be pretty one-sided in favor of Florida, but that doesn’t mean Georgia won’t put up some points. I expect Georgia to be good for 17+ points, and Florida to go for at least 27. I’m expecting a game total in the range of 27-17 up to 33-21. This gives us totals in the range of 44 to 54, giving us more winning overs. At 47.5, I think the over is the way to go here.
