Cowboys vs. Seahawks Betting Lines

What: Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks: NFL Week 2
When: 4:05 pm EST. Sunday, September 16, 2012
Where: CenturyLink Field

The Seattle Seahawks 0-1 (0-1 ATS) suffered a road loss to the Cardinals (20-16) in week 1, and now host the Dallas Cowboys 1-0 (1-0 ATS) in week 2. Dallas beat the Giants last week, and a win against the Seahawks would be a great start to the 2012-13 season.

Cowboys vs. Seahawks Point Spread, Money Line & Over/Under Odds

The Cowboys vs. Seahawks point spread opened at -1.5 points in favor of the Cowboys, but has been bet up to -3 points at most betting sites. I’d be a bit surprised if the line went above a FG before kick-off. The over/under has actually been bet down early this week from 43 to 41.5 points.

Dallas Cowboys

Last Wednesday the Cowboys started their 2012-13 NFL campaign with a well deserved 24-17 win over the Giants. QB Tony Romo looked great in week 1, as he completed 22/29 passes for 307 yards, 3 TD’s and 1 INT. Many WR’s got into the mix against NYG in week 1.

Kevin Ogletree led the team with 8 receptions, 114 receiving yards and 2 TD’s. Demarco Murray also had a big game, as he gained 131 rushing yards on 20 carries. If Murray can remain healthy this season the Cowboys might finally have a respectable run game.

The Cowboys were able to limit the G-Men to only 269 total yards in week 1 and Dallas should be able to stop the Seahawks who struggled on offense against the Cardinals defense. The Cowboys will have to deal with playing in Seattle, which is never easy.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle was hyped up all preseason and in week 1 they laid an egg against the Cardinals in a 20-16 loss. The Seahawks had more than a few chances to score a late TD in week 1, but I thought they made some bad play calls on difficult passing routes.

Rookie QB Russell Wilson was 18/34 for only 153 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He was unable to find the deep ball against Arizona and it won’t be easy against the Cowboys who now look like they have a better secondary with rookie Claiborne starting.

The most important match-up for the Seahawks will be stopping DeMarcus Ware. Russell Okung left week 1 with an injury late, but it appears he’ll be able to play through the injury. Okung will need to be successful stopping Ware if Wilson is in trouble.

Cowboys/Seahawks Point Spread

With Okung not at 100% and the Cowboys getting off to a fast start in week 1, I’ve bet the Dallas Cowboys point spread. You can bet on the Cowboys to cover the -3 (-125) point spread at BetOnline or take the Seahawks +3 (+120) at Bovada.

I hate betting against Seattle at home, but the Cowboys looked great in week 1 and I think they should be backed while they’re healthy.

Seahawks vs. Cowboys Money Line

The best Dallas Cowboys money line is -180 at BetOnline and the best Seattle Seahawks money line is +165 at Bovada.

I think a lot of people will be betting the Seahawks moneyline at home and that should help drop the point spread juice. It may be best to wait until kick-off to bet the Cowboys point spread.

Dallas vs. Seattle Over/Under

This game could be low scoring, but I really like the over when it’s this low. Romo looked good in week 1 and he has lots of WR’s that can catch the football. Seattle should be able to run the football and that may open up passing lanes, but they need to make sure Ware doesn’t get constant pressure.

I won’t make this an official recommendation, but I’m taking the over of 42.5 (-110).
