Chargers at Broncos Moneyline PickThe Denver Broncos (2-4 / 4-2 ATS) host the Los Angeles Chargers (2-4 / 5-1 ATS) at Mile High.

This AFC West match-up is important for both teams. The losing team will find themselves at the bottom of the division, while the winner will jump into the AFC wild card race.

We’ll also get to watch two young quarterbacks battle each other on Sunday.

Justin Herbert (Chargers) will be going up against Drew Lock (Broncos). We’ll analyze these two QBs later in the preview. First off, we’re going to take a look at the Chargers at Broncos betting lines.

This game opened up at a Pickem (PK), but the Chargers have been bet up to a FG (-3) favorite. The moneyline (ML) odds have also increased on LAC, but the bet is still +EV at -135 odds.

We haven’t seen much movement on the total. It opened at 44 points and is now 44.5 points.

LAC-DEN Statistical Analysis and Injury News

The Broncos have a lot of injuries. With several players already on the I-R, they come into this game with multiple other players questionable, including WR Tim Patrick and RB Phillip Lindsay.

LAC aren’t nearly as banged up. They have a few guys questionable, though, including G Trai Turner, T Bryan Bulaga and T Storm Norton. However, apart from Austin Ekeler, the skill players are healthy.

Here’s how these two teams match-up statistically:

These teams match-up quite well in most stat categories. However, the Chargers have a big edge in passing yards and turnover margin, which has allowed them to average more points scored.

Denver have the edge in sacks. They average 3.0 SPG (7th) and the Chargers average 2.2 SPG (18th).

Will the Broncos be able to pressure Herbert into making mistakes? Herbert has been named the Chargers starter for the rest of the season. Tyrod Taylor won’t start again unless Herbert is injured.

Herbert has already thrown for 1542 yards (332.6 PYPG), 12 TDs and 3 INTs.

Lock has looked terrible when playing this season. He’s averaging just 172.8 PYPG and he only has 1 TD pass with 4 INTs. Jeff Driskel and Brett Rypien both have outperformed Lock.

Chargers vs. Broncos ML Pick for Week 8

Both of these teams have been good against the spread this season. With the spread moving from a PK to -3 in favor of the Chargers, I’m going to be betting on the moneyline instead.

I don’t want to push this bet and there’s only an extra $.25 juice to bet the ML.

Looking back at the recent head-to-head results, the Broncos won both meetings last season. They won by a touchdown on the road (20-13) and then by a field goal at home (23-20).

This is a different Chargers offense, though. Herbert is slinging the football around.

Keenan Allen (481), Hunter Henry (291), Jalen Guyton (258) and Mike Williams (213) all have over 200+ receiving yards already. Guyton has been a reliable deep threat – he’s averaging 32.3 YPC.

The Chargers are also 9-3-5 ATS in the last 17 H2H meetings in Denver. LAC play every year at Mile High and they’re going to come into Denver on Sunday and win.

I wouldn’t touch the over/under in this game, though. Four of the last five H2H games have stayed under the total, but there has been more scoring this season than in previous seasons.

LAC have too many weapons in the pass game. They can spread the field out and if Herbert can avoid turning the football over, there’s no way the Chargers will lose.
