Brooklyn vs. Miami Betting Lines – Nov 7, 2012

Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat
When: 7:35pm EST. Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Where: American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida

The Brooklyn Nets 1-1 (1-1 ATS) will be on the road tonight against the Miami Heat 3-1 (2-2 ATS). After blowing a massive lead in their last game, I expect Brooklyn to be a lot more focused on the road against Miami on 11/7.

Latest Nets vs. Heat Betting Lines: 11/7/2012

Miami opened as -11 point favorites in Las Vegas and most online sportsbooks. The Heat are -10 at the time I write this, but I still think the value sides with the Nets who should bounce back tonight.

Will Brooklyn Cover ATS against Miami?

A couple of nights ago the Nets blew a massive lead against the Timberwolves, and they lost 107-96. After building a big lead they let off the gas pedal in the 4th quarter and it cost them the game, but I wouldn’t expect that to happen against the Heat.

Brooklyn has been averaging 101.5 PPG through two games, but the defense is allowing 103.5 PPG and we knew coming into this season that the Nets would struggle defensively because of Brook Lopez. Humphries is also playing poorly to start the season.

Miami has already played four games this year and they’ve averaged 111.8 PPG, which is the best in the NBA. Defensively, Miami is one of the worst teams in the league so far, as they’ve been allowing an average of 106.5 PPG, which is 29th worst in the league.

The rest of the stats on paper are close to even for both of these teams. They both love to score in the paint and neither team is scoring many fast break points. This game will be won in the paint with the big men.

Both benches have been middle of the pack this season as well, which is a big boost for the Heat. This season Miami’s bench has been averaging 17.4 PPG compared to the Brooklyn bench who has been scoring an average of 16.9 PPG this season.

Miami has been winning by an average of +5.2 PPG this season and this point spread seems way too high. The Nets have played well to start the season and they really should be 2-0. I think the big men for Brooklyn will be able to limit the Heat offense.

It’ll also be important to get out to the 3-line and guard the deep ball for the Nets. Against the Suns, the Heat ended up winning 124-99 and were able to shoot 57.7% from beyond the arc (15-26), which can’t happen tonight.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat Best Bet

Bet on Brooklyn +10 (-110) @ BetOnline.com

The Brooklyn Nets will keep this game close and it wouldn’t surprise me if they had a chance to win at the end. Brooklyn won’t be getting any respect coming into this game after blowing a huge lead to the T-Wolves, and everyone will be on the Heat. But if you look at the stats, this should be a close game between two of the better teams in the league.

Brooklyn vs. Miami Over/Under

Defense? Wrong game. This is all about offense, as we can see by the 209.5 over/under. However, it’s usually best to take the under when the O/U is so high, even with teams this offensive and weak on defense. Being early in the season, I expect that both teams are looking at defense as the key to a win, and I think the Brooklyn vs. Miami over/under falls just short of the current total.

I recommend under 209.5 (-110) at BetOnline.com.
