BORUSSIA Dortmund and Juventus play Wednesday in the 2nd leg of their Champions League series. Juve won the 1st leg (2-1) at home, after a crazy opening half. Carlos Tevez opened the scoring, but Marco Reus scored the equalizer five minutes afterwards.

Alvaro Morata netted the final goal of the match just before halftime to give Juventus the victory.

Juventus are confident, but I’m positive they’re wishing they held Dortmund to a clean sheet in Turin. The Italian side have reason to be confident though – Juventus have beaten BVB in the last three H2H matches played in Dortmund.

Dortmund vs. Juventus match odds

Bet on every Champions League knockout stage match at Bovada.lv (USA) or Bet365 (ROW).

This is a tough match to predict. On one hand – Juventus are 3-0-0 the last three times they’ve played in Dortmund. On the other hand – Dortmund are unbeaten at home in the 2014/15 Champions League and they’ve won 11 of their last 14 CL home matches.

The over/under interests me too in this match, as I expect under 2.5 goals to hit. Dortmund will be looking to win 1-0 in order to advance to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals for the third consecutive campaign and will play tight defence.

Will Dortmund or Juventus advance to the Champions League QF?

Both teams have been tough to score on in this competition. Dortmund have conceded six goals and Juventus have conceded five goals – both squads have played seven matches. BVB have only held one clean sheet at home though – a 2-0 win over Arsenal.

Dortmund have scored 15 goals (2.14 GPG) in the Champions League, but they’ve only scored two goals in their last three matches in the competition and have been winless during that time (0-1-2). They need to find their form upfront in order to qualify for the QF.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reus have both been heating up. Aubameyang has scored five goals in the last seven matches he has featured in and Rues has scored five goals in his last eight matches. These two are playing well, but BVB lack scoring depth.

Juventus are 3-1-0 in their last four matches in competition play, but they’re 1-0-2 in away matches. Juventus lost to Atletico Madrid and Olympiakos, while beating Malmo FF. Juventus were unable to score in the two away losses during group stage.

Scoring has been an issue for Juventus in all competitions. Juventus are scoring 1.28 GPG in the Champions League and they’ve only managed to score one goal in each of their last three league play matches. The loss of Andrea Pirlo has been noticeable.

Pirlo was injured in the 1st leg and hasn’t played since. Lukasz Piszczek was injured in the 1st leg on Dortmund too and he hasn’t been able to play since either. Massimiliano Allegri knows his team struggles away and will likely aim for a nil-nil draw in Germany.

Juventus have gone unbeaten in 11 consecutive matches, but they’re 1-1-5 in their last seven away matches in the CL. Dortmund is in a must-win situation at home and my money will be on the German side to win in the 1X2 market.

Dortmund v Juventus predictions – 2nd leg

Dortmund haven’t scored in their last two Bundesliga matches, but prior to that they beat Schalke 04 (3-0). I’m banking on a clean sheet for Dortmund. They have to keep Tevez doubled up and they need to attack the Juventus midfield when not in possession.

The German side have to win the possession battle. It’ll be tough to break Juventus, especially if they come out playing for a 0-0 draw, but Reus and Aubameyang are in fine goal scoring form. I’d avoid the “to qualify” market, as the odds aren’t much better.

I’m also betting on under 2.5 goals in Dortmund v Juventus. Dortmund know the easiest path to qualifying is by keeping a clean sheet and winning at home 1-0 or 2-0. Juventus are going to focus on defence too, at least initially until they concede a goal.

A quick goal by Dortmund wouldn’t be ideal for us under bettors, as Juventus would have to open up their play at that point to score an away goal and keep their chances alive. However, as long as we don’t have an early goal this match should stay under the total.

Who will score the first goal in Juventus vs. Dortmund?

There are multiple options in the first goalscorer market if you’re looking to target a Dortmund player. Reus, Aubameyang (+550), Ciro Immobile (+600) and Adrian Ramos (+650) are all capable of opening the scoring in this 2nd leg tilt against Juventus.

Reus scored the lone goal for BVB in the 1st leg and easily looked the best of the bunch. If you want to target a Juventus striker your best bet is Tevez (+550). Tevez has scored four goals in the competition, which leads the way for the Italian side.
