Bears vs. Cowboys Betting Odds

What: Chicago Bears vs. Dallas Cowboys – NFL Week 4
When: 8:30PM EST – Monday, October 1st 2012
Where: Cowboys Stadium in Arlington

Chicago Bears 2-1 (2-1 ATS) will travel to Arlington to take on the Dallas Cowboys 2-1 (1-2 ATS) on MNF. Both teams lead in their respective divisions, but that will likely change after this game for one team. This will be one of the best games this week.

Bears vs. Cowboys Lines: Point Spread, Money Line & Over/Under

Dallas opened up as a -3.5 point favorite last Sunday, but the point spread is now -3 in favor of Dallas. The over/under opened up at 45.5 points and we’ve seen the total move all the way down to 41.5 points, which is a ton of movement for a total.

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are 2-1 mainly due to their defense, as the offense has been struggling a bit due to injury. Bush started for the Bears last week against the Rams due to a Forte injury, but it’s expected that Forte will be the starter this week.

Chicago’s rushing attack ranks 13th (103.7 RYPG) in the NFL, but they rank 28th in passing yards (186.3 PYPG). Cutler isn’t getting it done in the passing game, as he’s now just 49/93 for 642 yards, 3 TD’s and 6 INT’s after the first three weeks of the season.

Like usual, the Bears defense has been the strong point this season. Chicago ranks 6th against the pass (203 PYPG) and they also rank 6th against the run (76 RYPG). The Bears only allow an average of 16.7 PPG (5th) and they average 3 TO’s per game (2nd).

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys had a number of players limited in practise this week including DeMarcus Ware and Miles Austin, but these players will be starting this week against the Bears. Dallas is also 2-1 and it’s because the defense has been strong this season.

Dallas has the 2nd ranked passing defense (137 PYPG), 19th ranked rushing defense (113 RYPG) and they rank 7th in points allowed with an average of 18 PPG this season. The Cowboys haven’t been able to force many turnovers though (1 TO per game – 21st).

The rushing game hasn’t been able to get going in Dallas and Romo has been forced to air it out early. Dallas ranks 13th in passing offense (265.3 PYPG), but the running attack ranks 29th (76.7 RYPG) and they’ve only averaged 15.7 PPG (32nd) offensively.

Bears vs. Cowboys Point Spread

Both teams will be wound up since this is MNF and I expect it to be a very closely contested game. You can bet on the Bears +3.5 at Bovada or if you want to bet on the Cowboys you can bet them at -3 at BetOnline. Getting the ½ pt either way is important.

Bears Point Spread

I bet on the Chicago Bears point spread +3.5 (-120) at Bovada. Getting the hook in this MNF game is great in my opinion, as CHI should be able to shutdown the Cowboys offense. Cutler won’t light it up, but he’ll do enough to win an ugly game.

Cowboys Point Spread

For those of you that like the Dallas Cowboys you can bet on their point spread -3 (-125) at BetOnline. If the Cowboys don’t turn the football over and they can get a running attack going they could definitely win a close one at home against the Bears.

Chicago Bears vs. Dallas Cowboys Money Line

The current money line odds in the Bears vs. Cowboys game is the same at Bovada and BetOnline. You can bet on the Bears +160, which I think has good value. The Cowboys money line is -180 and I’d bet on the point spread instead of risking that much juice. I think Forte will play a big role this week, as everything has pointed to him being healthy and ready to go this week.

Chicago vs. Dallas Over/Under Odds

Early action came in on the under in this game and it has settled down to about even money on both sides. The over/under has dropped 4 points since opening, which is a huge move. I like the over at 41.5 points, as MNF games tend to be crazy. If you like the under bet under 42 at Bovada. I expect the Bears to force a couple TO’s and that will give Cutler some short fields to work with. I feel the total has been bet down too low.
