NFL Wild Card Round 2020There are four games this weekend in the Wild Card Round of the 2020 NFL playoffs, but the one game I want to target the most is the Seattle Seahawks (7-8-1 ATS) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (7-9 ATS).

Seattle finished in second place in the extremely tough NFC West and secured the #5 seed in the conference. However, they head into the playoffs on a two-game losing streak.

The Seahawks lost to Arizona in week 16 (27-13) and San Francisco in week 17 (26-21). They also lost to the Rams (28-12) in week 14.

Philadelphia won the NFC East, which was easily the worst division in the NFL this season. Philly won four consecutive games to win the division, but all four games were against NFC East rivals.

The Eagles finished the regular season with a 5-1 division record, however, they went 2-4 against the rest of the conference, including a week 12 loss against the Seahawks (17-9) at home.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles Playoffs Odds Movement

When the point spread was initially released for this game the Eagles were -1 favorites, but the line quickly moved and the Seahawks are now -2.5 point favorites at Bovada ($250 NFL Playoff Bonus).

We haven’t seen much movement with the game total. The over/under opened at 45.5 points and has been bet up slightly to 46 points. It’s unlikely we see any more movement for the game total.

SEA at PHI Injury News for the Wild Card Round

What was most surprising about the Eagles win streak was they were dealing with a lot of injuries.

The Eagles offense has been dealing with injuries all season. A number of players are questionable for this game, including Miles Sanders, Zach Ertz, Nelson Agholor, Lane Johnson and Jalen Mills.

Sanders is expected to start at RB, but if his ankle sprain proves too painful, Boston Scott would likely lead the RB committee with Jordan Howard getting some touches as well.

Seattle are dealing with injuries as well. Mychal Kendricks tore his ACL and is out, Jaron Brown has also been ruled out this week, while Quandre Diggs and Malik Turner are questionable.

Chris Carson is also out for the playoffs, so the Seahawks went and signed Marshawn Lynch.

Seahawks at Eagles Playoffs Preview – Statistical Analysis

Here’s how these two teams ranked statistically during the regular season:

Seattle has had to rely a lot more on their offense this season than in year’s past because of the defensive struggles. This is one of the worst Seahawks defenses we’ve seen in awhile.

Philly have the edge on defense, but the Seahawks have a big edge offensively, especially with all of the injuries to skill players on the Eagles. Greg Ward could end up being Carson Wentz’s #1 target.

Wentz is likely going to have success moving the football against this defense even with injuries, but the Seahawks defense has done a great job at forcing turnovers at opportune times.

Seattle had 32 takeaways (16 INTs / 16 Fumbles) during the regular season, which ranked #3, while the Eagles had 23 giveaways (8 INTs / 15 Fumbles) throughout the season, which ranked #19.

Seahawks vs. Eagles Best Bets – Money Line and Over/Under

Seahawks vs Eagles NFL Playoffs Preview 2020

Wentz had his worst game of the season against the Seahawks in week 12. He threw 2 INTs and he also fumbled three times, losing two of them. Four of his ten TOs this season were in this game.

This game is going to be low scoring and could go either way. I could even see this game ending with the Seahawks winning by one point, which is why I’m paying the juice and betting the ML.

Seattle went 7-1 on the road this season and Russell Wilson has had a great season. He has thrown for 4110 yards, 31 TDs and 5 INTs. He also rushed for 342 yards and 3 TDs.

I trust Wilson in the playoffs more than Wentz and Wilson has the better weapons. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf combined for 1957 receiving yards and 15 TDs during the regular season.

The regular season game between these two teams was very low scoring despite multiple turnovers by both teams. There’s little reason to expect this game to be high scoring.

Not only is the Eagles offense a mess due to numerous injuries, but the Seahawks offense hasn’t looked great in over a month. I’d be surprised if either team scored 24+ points.

My final score prediction is the Seahawks will win 21-20 at Lincoln Financial Field.
