2012 Olympics Volleyball Odds & Betting Tips

The 2012 Summer Olympics will be here before we know it and once it’s here you don’t want to be rushing around trying to bet on the popular events at the Olympics game in London this summer. Volleyball is one of the most popular events and we want to take an early look at the indoor volleyball odds for both the men’s and women’s draw.

Where to Bet on Volleyball at the 2012 Summer Olympics

Whether you want to bet on your mobile device or online the best betting site is Bet365 for volleyball. You can already start to place wagers on the outright winner markets for the men’s and women’s volleyball competition at the 2012 Olympics. Odds to Win Women’s Volleyball Gold Medal at 2012 Olympics

• Brazil: 2.50
• USA: 3.00
• Russia: 4.00
• Italy: 11.00
• Serbia: 21.00
• China: 26.00
• Turkey: 26.00
• Japan: 51.00

Many expect the gold medal battle to be between Brazil and the USA at the 2012 Olympics on the women’s side. The USA is the #1 ranked women’s volleyball team with the Brazilian women not far behind. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing the Brazil Women volleyball team beat the Americans in the gold medal game. The Americans have never won gold on the women’s side before.

The odds are short on both of these teams and that’s because the women’s volleyball tournament should be very competitive with several potential sleepers. Russia is priced short at 4.00 odds and I wouldn’t bet on them in the futures betting market this summer at the 2012 Olympics because they’re only #7 in the world.

My sleeper picks are the Italians at 11.00 and the Japanese at 51.00 this summer at the Olympics in London. The Italians won the 2011 FIVB World Cup again (Also won in 2007). The Italians could make it to the gold medal game where you could hedge. Japan is an unlikely pick, but at 51.00 they’re priced way too high and even if they make the semi-finals you can hedge out for profit.

Odds to Win Men’s Volleyball Gold Medal at 2012 Olympics

• Brazil: 2.00
• Russia: 3.50
• Italy: 8.00
• Poland: 11.00
• USA: 17.00
• Bulgaria: 23.00
• Serbia: 23.00
• Argentina: 51.00
• Germany: 67.00

At the 2008 Olympics the Americans won the gold medal, but they’re not looking good heading to London. The team is dealing with a major injury to one of their star players and that’s why they’re not amongst the favourites. The USA men weren’t able to win a medal at the 2011 FIVB World Cup, as Russia won gold, Poland won silver and Brazil won bronze.

Brazil won silver at the 2008 Olympics and they’re favourites to win the gold in 2012. Brazil has a solid team with tons of depth and I can’t imagine them not making the gold medal game. Russia could surprise here and win the gold medal as well. They have a lot of returning players from their bronze medal team in 2008 and they’re fresh off winning the 2011 World Cup.

I honestly don’t think there are any worthy sleeper picks in the men’s volleyball draw at the 2012 Olympics. My pick to win the men’s draw is Russia at 3.50. They seem to be playing well together and I think they really want the gold this year. If Russia can make the gold medal game you could always hedge out and guarantee a profit if they play a tough team like Brazil. Bet on the 2012 Olympics Indoor Volleyball outright betting markets on the Bet365 Mobile App.
