2012 Hungarian Grand Prix Betting Odds & Tips

The 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix is set to run on Sunday, July 29th at the 4.381 km Hungaroring circuit. The track is known to be on the “safer” side where we don’t expect to see a lot of passing. With that said, FIA and Hungaroring management have been working to create more passing opportunities, and thus more excitement. Button won the 2011 Hungarian Grand Prix after fighting with his teammate Lewis Hamilton for much of the race.

Winner Odds for the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix

When it comes to getting the best odds this weekend at the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix Bet365 Mobile is offering the top odds on a couple of the favourites including Alonso and Hamilton. Paddy Power Mobile has the best odds on numerous drivers in the middle of the pack including Perez, Massa and Maldonado.

Will Jenson Button Repeat in the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix?

Fernando Alonso is the favourite at every bookmaker right now at 3.75 odds. Alonso has now won 3 races this year including last week’s German Grand Prix at Nurburgring. Fernando is in the best form out of the rest of the top drivers and he also finished T3 last year in Hungary. He’s a solid pick this week, but the value simply isn’t there for me on him.

Jenson Button has to be given consideration at 9/1 odds before qualifying. Button won the race last season through a bit of luck, but his form is great right now and I expect him to do great. Button finished 2nd last week in Germany and his confidence should be high coming into the Hungarian Grand Prix. Button is my best bet, as I feel he shouldn’t be priced so high.

It wasn’t too long ago that Lewis Hamilton won in Hungary (2007 & 2009) and that’s why he’s priced so short. McLaren always does well in Hungary and I expect both drivers to hit the podium. Hamilton almost won last year in Hungary, but a bad pit stop plus a penalty ended his chances. Lewis ended up finishing in 6th place after leading most of the race.

Kimi Raikkonen had an outstanding podium finish in Germany last week, but I wouldn’t bet on him to follow that up. Vettel and Webber are two popular tips this week, but Red Bull hasn’t done well in Hungary very often. Webber did win in 2010, but other than that neither driver has won in Hungary recently while McLaren drivers have dominated.

One of other bets I really like this week is McLaren to win the race at 3.75 at Ladbrokes Mobile. Red Bull (3.00) is the favourite in this market, but Button and Hamilton both have 2 wins each in Hungary since 2006. None of the other markets stand out too much and I’m sticking with just the two bets on the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Best Bets for the 2012 Hungarian GP

• Jenson Button to win at 10.00 (9/1)
• McLaren to win at 4.00 (3/1)
