Steelers vs. Ravens Money Line

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens Week 13

Kick-Off: Thursday, November 28th 2013 at 8:30pm ET
Location: M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland
Network: Watch Live on NBC

The Pittsburgh Steelers (5-6) are one of the hottest teams in the NFL after winning three in a row. They travel to M&T Bank Stadium to take on the Baltimore Ravens (5-6). This AFC North match-up has playoff implications and should be a great end to Thanksgiving.

What is the Money Line in Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore

Bet on Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore at Bovada!

These two teams always play tough against each other and I like the value on the Steelers money line. The last four games between Pittsburgh and Baltimore have ended within a FG. Both teams are 2-2 in that span, but the Steelers have won the last two meetings.

How the Steelers Will Win This Game

Big Ben has done what he has had to do the last three weeks to help the Steelers get back into the playoff hunt. Pittsburgh averages 262.2 PYPG (8th) while Baltimore allows 226.4 PYPG (11th). If Big Ben can throw for 250+ passing yards he’ll have done his job.

The Ravens have allowed opposing offenses to gain 40+ yards on a play 15 times this season, which is worst in the NFL. Big Ben has two WR’s (Antonio Brown & Jeremy Cotchery) that can beat the Ravens secondary downfield for big plays in this match-up.

Ray Rice (156 Carries for 450 Yards & 4 TD’s) and Bernard Pierce (114 Carries for 309 Yards & 2 TD’s) have struggled this season. The team has only averaged 81.7 RYPG (27th). Both RB’s are picking up less than 3 yards per carry and don’t look like they’re improving.

Pittsburgh has had troubles stopping the run (118.8 RYPG – 23rd) most of the season. In week 7 these two teams played each other and the Steelers were able to hold the Ravens to 82 rushing yards (0 TD’s) on 26 carries. They have to repeat that performance.

Both teams have struggled with turnovers this season. The Ravens average 1.7 giveaways per game (20th) while the Steelers aren’t much better at 1.6 giveaways per game (17th). In what should be an exciting game it’s imperative to win the turnover battle.

Joe Flacco has 14 INT’s and he has thrown an interception on 3.5% of his pass attempts this season. Pittsburgh only has 7 INT’s this year on defense. In the game against Baltimore in week 7 the Steelers lost the turnover battle, but still managed to barely win.

Baltimore isn’t the only team having problems running the football. Pittsburgh only averages 77.3 RYPG (30th), but it’s important to establish the run to keep the Ravens offense off of the field. Baltimore has allowed teams to rush for 102.6 RYPG (11th) this season.

Le-Veon Bell will get most of the carries again this week and he’s averaging 3.2 yards per carry. Part of the problem has been injuries to the o-line including Pouncey. The makeshift o-line isn’t getting the blocks they need to in order to open up holes for Bell.

Players to Target in NFL Fantasy

A lot of the daily fantasy sites are running special Thanksgiving Day only tournaments on Thursday. I’ve listed a player from both of the teams in action that I’ll be using in my fantasy line-up. These two players need to step up to give their team a shot at winning.

Antonio Brown is getting a ton of targets and he has been valuable in daily fantasy this year. Brown already has 80 receptions, which is 32 more than the next closest player on the team. Brown has averaged 94.9 receiving yards per game and he has 6 TD’s.

The Steelers are only allowing 224.4. PYPG (10th), but Torrey Smith has to step up this week or Baltimore is in trouble. Smith has the most receptions (48) and receiving yards (859) on the team. He averages 17.9 yards per catch, but can disappear at times.

Steelers vs. Ravens Picks

Pittsburgh has won the last two in the series and they come into this game playing better football than Baltimore. With both teams sitting at 5-6 this is going to be one of the best games of the week. Expect this game to go right down to the wire Thursday night.
