NFL Week 4 TNF: Dolphins vs. Bengals Over/Under Predictions

Where: Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio
Watch: NBC
The Cincinnati Bengals (1-2) host the Miami Dolphins (1-2) on Thursday Night Football to kick-off week 4 of the NFL regular season. These two teams haven’t played head-to-head since 2013. The Dolphins have won three consecutive H2H games dating back to 2010.
Both teams had high expectations, but they’re both sitting in 3rd place in their respective divisions with one win apiece. It’s only week 4, but this is important game for both teams if they want to keep pace in the AFC playoff race. Falling to 1-3 will put one team in a huge hole.

- Point Spread: Dolphins +7 (-110) vs. Bengals –7 (-110)
- Game Total: Over 44.5 (-110) vs. Under 44.5 (-110)
Cincinnati are being bet hard early on, as the sharps are betting into the line before it increases. If you like the Dolphins to win, your best bet is to wait it out and you’ll likely get +7.5 on Thursday.
Almost all bets in the game total market have been on over 44.5 points.
MIA vs. CIN stats pack
- Points Scored: Dolphins 21.3 PPG (20th) vs. Bengals 18.7 PPG (25th)
- Passing Yards (OFF): Dolphins 282.7 PYPG (10th) vs. Bengals 293.0 PYPG (7th)
- Rushing Yards (OFF): Dolphins 83.0 RYPG (25th) vs. Bengals 82.0 RYPG (27th)
- Points Allowed: Dolphins 22.3 PPG (16th) vs. Bengals 25.0 PPG (20th)
- Passing Yards (DEF): Dolphins 267.7 PYPG (18th) vs. Bengals 247.0 PYPG (13th)
- Rushing Yards (DEF): Dolphins 147.3 RYPG (31st) vs. Bengals 109.3 RYPG (19th)
- Turnover Margin: Dolphins –3 (25th) vs. Bengals –1 (22nd)
These teams match-up similarly. Both are great at airing it out, but haven’t been able to run. Cincinnati were expected to be better defensively, but a home game against Miami should get them on track.
Dolphins vs. Bengals week 4 best bets
- Game Total Pick: Bet on Over 44.5 Points (-110) at Bovada.lv
Miami have veeb soft defensively and I’m surprised they haven’t allowed more points. Four takeaways have helped, but they can’t rely on turnovers every week. The Dolphins just allowed 24 points against Cleveland and needed overtime to win. Cincinnati should definitely exceed the Browns score.
Jeremy Hill finally got the Bengals ground game going last week early on. Hill had 17 carries for 97 yards and 2 TDs. However, Trevoe Sieman exploded for four TD passes against the Bengals defense and Cincy lost the game by nearly two TDs (29-17). Hill is in line for another big game on the ground this week.
A.J. Green has been quiet since his monster week 1 stat line, but I expect him to get back on track in a home game against a poor secondary that can be beat consistently. Tyler Eifert is expected to miss this game again, so Green and Brandon LaFell will see a lot of targets from Andy Dalton.
The Dolphins will score points in this game as well. The Bengals defense hasn’t been good at all to start the season. They’ve allowed 22 points (Jets), 24 (Steelers) and 29 points (Broncos). If the Bengals score 24+ points, we only need the Dolphins to put up 21 points, which has a great chance.
Arian Foster is out again this week for Miami, so Ryan Tannehill will have to air it out. He has a great WR duo with Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker. Miami will likely be playing from behind on TNF too, which will force the Dolphins into passing the football and slowing down the clock.
Dolphins vs. Bengals ATS picks week 4
- Point Spread Pick: Bet on the Miami Dolphins +7 (-110) at Bovada.lv
This isn’t one of my best bets this week, but the point spread is too big. Miami isn’t a bad team and with the passing attack they boast, they can keep this game against the Bengals within a TD. Cincy struggled to defeat the Jets in week 1 (23-22) and have lost two straight, they shouldn’t be touchdown favorites.
