Euro 2012 Semifinals Odds & Betting Tips

The Euro 2012 semi-finals will be played on Wednesday and Thursday. The four teams that have made it to the semi-finals include Spain, Italy, Portugal and Germany. We’re going to preview the upcoming semifinals matches and we’ve also posted the latest mobile betting odds for the Euro 2012 semifinals. The two teams most likely to advance at this stage include the Spaniards and the Germans.

Portugal vs. Spain Semifinals Odds & Tips

• Portugal: 4.50
• Spain: 1.95
• Draw: 3.30

Spain is still undefeated at Euro 2012 while the Spaniards have lost once already during group stage. In the quarter-finals Spain was able to win their match 2-0 against France while Portugal was able to win their match 1-0 against the Czech Republic. Spain has looked very dominant with their play at Euro 2012 mainly due to the fact they’ve been employing a unique 4-6-0 formation in most of their matches.

The Spaniards style of play isn’t the most exciting, but Spain does control possession with their formation. Often when you control possession you win matches, especially when you have the skill level that the Spaniards have. One problem with this style of play is that they don’t force the action upfront enough and in a close 0-0 match anything can happen, especially with Ronaldo on the other side of the pitch.

Spain should be able to win this match without too much of a problem. Xavi has been great for Spain and he has set numerous records at the tourney this year for passing the ball. Torres needs to step-up in this match for Spain in order to provide a nice target for Spain’s midfield. I think the final score will be Spain 2 and Portugal 1. Ronaldo will score a goal for Portugal, but it won’t be enough to advance to the finals.

Germany vs. Italy Semifinals Odds & Tips

• Germany 1.90
• Italy: 4.50
• Draw: 3.40

Germany easily advanced to the semifinals with a 4-2 win over Greece. Germany went up 1-0 in the match, but the Greeks were able to draw even in the 2nd half. However, the draw was short lived, as the Germans turned up the heat again and scored 3 unanswered goals. Greece was awarded with a late penalty shot, but by that point the penalty kick wasn’t going to help the Greeks get back into the match.

The Italians advanced to the semi-finals after winning on penalty kicks against England in the quarterfinals. Italy and England were both held scoreless in their QF match until the penalty kicks. The Italians outplayed England and had numerous chances to put the match away, but they were unable to find any type of finishing touch around the net. That’s going to cost them against the Germans who can score at will.

I expect the Italians to be able to hold off the Germans a bit better than the Greeks, but Germany should win. Germany didn’t even start their main players against Greece, so they should be rested against the Italians in the semifinals. I think this match will be low scoring and I like the U2.5 goals in this match although at just about even money betting on the Germans is a better betting tip in my opinion.

My two betting tips for the Euro 2012 semi-finals matches are Germany to win and Spain to win. Both teams are paying just under even money at the moment and I think that’s offering punters a lot of value. You can not only bet on these two matches at Paddy Power, but you can also play mobile blackjack and many other mobile games.
