Eagles at Packers Over/Under Prediction – NFL Week 4

Philadelphia Eagles(1-2) @ Green Bay Packers(3-0)

  • Where: Lambeau Field. Green Bay, WI
  • When: September 26, 2019 8:00 pm EST
  • Spread: Eagles +4.5 (-110) vs. Packers -4.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Eagles (+180) vs. Packers (-220)
  • Over / Under: Over 45 (-110) vs. Under 45 (-110)

This week’s Thursday Night Football (TNF) game is between the Eagles and Packers.

The Green Bay Packers 3-0 (3-0 ATS) are already 2-0 at Lambeau after defeating the Broncos (27-16) in week 3 action. Green Bay have started the season 3-0 for the first time since 2015.

The Philadelphia Eagles 1-2 (0-3 ATS) were touted as Super Bowl contenders prior to the season, but injuries have already started to pile up and the Eagles now need a win desperately.

PHI vs. GB Betting Odds – Early Market Moves

It’s only Monday, but we’ve already seen big market moves on the point spread and game total.

The point spread opened at -3 in favor of the Packers, but they’ve jumped to -4.5 at most shops. The over/under opened at 48 points, but is now down to 45 points.

I’m surprised the total is so low and I’ll be betting on over 45 points at the Bovada Sportsbook.

NFL Week 3: Eagles vs. Packers By the Numbers

Here’s how these two teams match-up statistically through the first three weeks of the season.

The Eagles have the edge offensively, while the Packers have the edge defensively. Green Bay have also forced a lot of turnovers and that could be huge in what I expect to be a close game.

Eagles vs. Packers Week 3 Totals Pick

There’s often fireworks on TNF games and this one should be no different despite the injuries to the Eagles offense. It’s expected DeSean Jackson will miss another game, but Alshon Jeffery is likely to be available at minimum. However, JJ Arcega-Whiteside is also questionable to play.

Despite the injuries at WR, the Eagles still have Nelson Agholor and TE Zach Ertz. Mack Hollins has started the last two games and has caught 9 of 15 targets for 112 receiving yards as well.

Eagles vs. Packers Betting Week 4The Packers have been great against the pass though, so Carson Wentz will need to be on his game. He struggled last week, completing 19/36 passes for 259 yards and 2 TDs in a loss to Detroit (27-24).

However, the Eagles would be wise to establish the run game. GB have struggled stopping the run and the Eagles have Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles to pound the football.

Philly just has to watch the turnovers. Sanders and Agholor both fumbled on Sunday. With several key WRs injured, the Eagles can’t afford turning it over when driving the football downfield.

Green Bay’s offense has been struggling mightily despite them being undefeated. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 647 yards and 4 TDs through three weeks, but he also hasn’t thrown an INT.

However, this is a chance to get the passing game rolling, as the Eagles secondary is decimated by injuries. With Ronald Darby out, the Eagles only have three healthy cornerbacks.

Rodgers doesn’t have a lot to work with at WR although they need to get Davante Adams involved more consistently. Adams still leads the team in receiving yards (198) and receptions (15), but they need to throw his way more often, which should be possible against a weak Eagles secondary.

The Eagles have been putting up points even with all of the injuries on offense. However, they’ve also allowed a lot of points and the Packers offense is bound to break out soon.

With the total dropping to 45 points there’s definitely value betting on the over.

Eagles vs. Packers Week 3 Winner Prediction

Philly is in desperate need of a victory on primetime, but it’s tough travelling to Lambeau. This will be a close match-up and another option would be betting on the Eagles ATS at +5 points (-110).

However, if you don’t mind paying the juice, the Packers ML is a safer bet in my opinion.

Rodgers with a top 5 defense is trouble for the rest of the NFL. Once he gets the offense running more efficiently, the Packers are going to be an even tougher team to beat.

These two teams don’t play each other too often, but Rodgers is 4-0 against the Eagles. They last played in 2016 and the Packers won 27-13 in Philadelphia.
