Cowboys vs. Ravens Over/Under

What: Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens – 2012, NFL Week 6
When: 1:00pm EST. Sunday, October 14th 2012
Where: M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland

The Dallas Cowboys went into their bye week with a 2-2 (1-3 ATS) record and now they have a tough match-up on the road against the Baltimore Ravens 4-1 (2-3 ATS). This should be a hard hitting game where every yard will be at a premium.

NFL Week 6: Cowboys vs. Ravens Total Betting Odds

For the Cowboys vs. Ravens over/under, I really like the under. The total opened at 43.5 points at the start of the week and has gone up ½ to 1 pt at different bookies. I could see the total increasing to 44.5 – 45 points before game time, so keep an eye on the latest over/under odds in the next 24 hours.

Dallas vs. Baltimore Total Odds (Over/Under)

Although the Baltimore Ravens defense has been struggling in different areas, they’ve made it tough for competitors to get into the end zone. Baltimore is still towards the bottom of the league in passing yards allowed (261.4 PYPG – 22nd) and in rushing yards allowed (118.4 RYPG – 20th). Heading into week 6, the Ravens are 2-2-1 on the over/under.

However, the Ravens are now ranked 7th in the NFL in points allowed at just 17.8 PPG. In week 4 the Browns scored 16, and last week the Chiefs only managed to score 6 points at home. I expect the Ravens defense to limit the Cowboys to under 20 points.

The Dallas Cowboys just had their bye week and we’ll find out if they’ve been able to solve their offensives woes. The Cowboys are ranked 4th in passing yards (296.2 PYPG), 29th in rushing yards (67.8 RYPG) and almost dead last in points scored (16.2 PPG – 30th). This translates into a 1-3 over/under record for the Cowboys.

I expect the Cowboys defense to be well-rested and have a good day. The Cowboys defense ranks 1st in passing yards allowed (169.5 PYPG), 15th in rushing yards allowed (108 RYPG) and 13th in points scored (22 PPG).

Joe Flacco is going to have trouble passing the football and I expect the Cowboys to put tons of pressure on him. The Cowboys average 2.2 sacks per game this season and the Ravens have had some protection problems the past couple of weeks.

Cleveland and Kansas City both sacked Flacco four times, and the Cowboys should be able to get to him at least that many times in week 6. Tony Romo is also going to have his hands full on the road in Baltimore, as the Ravens always step up at home.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens Over/Under Prediction

Bet Under 44 (-110) @ BetOnline.com

Ray Rice should play a big role in this game and I expect him to rush for 100+ yards. Ideally the Ravens will stick to the run and keep the clock running while kicking FG’s instead of scoring TD’s. Dallas hasn’t scored much all year and that’s unlikely to change as well.

This is the type of game where I expect the final score to be in the 20-17 range for the Ravens. Dallas’ defense will keep them in the game, but the offense won’t do enough to win. The Dallas vs. Baltimore over/under is at 44 pts right now and I think it stays well under the total.
