Cavaliers vs. Bulls betting lines for game 6 – NBA playoffs

Cavaliers vs Bulls Game 6 Preview

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls – NBA Eastern Conference SF – Game 6

Tip-Off: Thursday, May 14th 2015 at 8:00pm ET
Venue: United Center in Chicago, Illinois
TV: ESPN

THE Chicago Bulls scored more points in game 5 (101) than they have all series, but it wasn’t enough, as the Cleveland Cavaliers took a 3-2 lead in the NBA Eastern Conference semi finals series. Can the Bulls force a game 7 with a home win?

Cleveland took a 54-44 lead into the locker room at HT in game 5 and never looked back.

Chicago tried to climb back into the game in the 2H. The Bulls outscored the Cavaliers in the 3rd and 4th quarter, but it was too little, too late. Lebron James stole the show at home, as he finished the game with 38 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks.

Kyrie Irving may be banged up, but you couldn’t tell, as he finished with 25 points, 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Derrick Rose started the game on fire, but finished 7 of 24 from the field (16 points). Jimmy Butler led the way for the Bulls with 29 points and 9 rebounds.

Latest point spread, money line and over/under

Most shops have yet to open a line on this match-up, so expect a lot of movement. Pau Gasol is questionable – if he plays the point spread and money line odds will move a lot. The over/under likely won’t move too much. If anything, the total will only go up.

Starting line-ups

Cleveland Cavaliers:

Chicago Bulls:

Shumpert has been playing great and he has solidified his spot in the starting line-up for the time being. The only line-up change may be Gasol for Gibson. Gasol is hopeful he can play, but until there’s an update otherwise, don’t expect him to play a major role.

CLE at CHI best bets

I recommend waiting a bit to see where this line goes.

If Gasol plays the line will jump down quickly, but if he sits out again, the public will hammer the Cavs to finish the series and we’ll get a better price on the Bulls money line. With this being a do or die situation in Chicago – I have faith in the Bulls to win.

These two teams split the two games (#3 and #4) at the United Center earlier in the series.

Both games in Chicago were decided by three points or less. You may want to bet the point spread if you can get +3 on the Bulls, but I expect the Bulls to force a game 7.

James was finally able to solve Butler, as James went 14 of 24 from the field. Butler has to defend James better, as the Bulls can’t afford to give up close to 40 points to one player. James is averaging 28.4 PPG in the series and has to be held to under that.

If Butler can keep James to 28 points or less – the Bulls will keep the series alive.

I’m not sure what happened to Rose in game 5. He had a great 1st quarter, but then he fell apart. He didn’t only struggle on the offensive end of the court, but he allowed a hobbled Irving to shoot 9 of 16 from the field (3 of 6 on 3-pointers).

Here’s a breakdown of the NBA Four Factor statistics for this match-up:

These two teams couldn’t be much closer to even. Both teams are missing a star PF as well.

James has done well all series, but the rest of the Cavs have struggled in the two road games. The Cavaliers combined to shoot 61 of 157 (38.9%) from the field and 19 of 59 (32.2%) from beyond the arc in the games at the United Center.

There’s no reason not to expect another poor shooting performance from the Cavaliers.
