Buccaneers vs. Broncos Betting Lines

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos
When: 4:00pm EST. Sunday, December 2, 2012
Where: Sports Authority Field at Mile High

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-5 (8-2-1 ATS) are on the road this weekend against the Denver Broncos 8-3 (6-5 ATS). The Bucs lost last week, but they’re still looking good to win a wild card spot in the NFC. Barring a miracle, the Broncos have locked up the AFC West.

Denver is the hottest team in the NFL right now, riding a 6-game winning streak heading into this game. Denver is 4-1 at home but only 3-2 ATS, while the Buccaneers are 3-2 on the road and a perfect 5-0 ATS.

Tampa Bay vs. Denver Betting Lines

As of Sunday morning at 1:00am EST we haven’t seen a lot of movement on the Buc’s vs. Broncos betting lines yet. The spread opened at -7 in favor of the Broncos, and it’s -7.5 right now. The over/under has dropped one point from the open of 51.5 points, down to 50.5 right now.

Will the Buccaneers Continue Their Perfect ATS Road Record?

Tampa Bay lost last week at home to the Falcons (24-23), but it was a game that they had a chance to win. TB has been playing great football and they’ve been perfect ATS on the road – although their road schedule hasn’t been too difficult.

This Denver game is going to be the toughest road test of the season for the Buccaneers. Rookie RB Doug Martin has been a huge boost for the Bucs offense that ranks 11th in rushing yards (121.7 RYPG) and 13th in passing yards (243.6 PYPG).

Despite not cracking the top 10 in passing or rushing, the Bucs rank 4th in points scored with an average of 28.2 PPG. Part of the reason they’re scoring so much this year has been their defense that averages 2 takeaways per game (6th).

Denver’s offense has also been great in most games this season. Peyton Manning has the 6th best passing numbers (287.5 PYPG), but the Broncos rushing offense ranks 20th (104.4 RYPG). They also rank 3rd in points scored with an average of 28.9 PPG.

My major concern with the Buccaneers this week is their passing defense. They rank dead last (32nd) in passing yards allowed per game with an average of 315.5 PYPG. Everybody knows that Manning will look to feast against this Buc’s secondary.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos Betting Picks

Bet on the Buccaneers +7.5 (-110) @ JustBet.cx

I’m taking the Bucs and the points due to their stellar ATS record on the road, and because the offense should be able to pick-up yards on the ground. I thought the opening line of seven points was dead-on. If it had gone to Broncos -6.5, I would’ve taken that all day long. At Bucs +7.5 however, I have to take the points in this one.

Bettors can also get Bucs +8.5 at BetOnline, but you’ll have to pay -120 for the extra point. If you’re loving the Broncos here, you can get them at +100 at BetOnline, but you’ll give up eight and a half points.

Bucs vs. Broncos Over/Under

Bet Under 50.5 (-110) at BetOnline.com

The Tampa Bay vs. Denver over/under seemed high when it opened at 51.5 points, but it has dropped a point since then. With the Bucs only giving up 23.1 PPG (19th) and the Broncos giving up 20.1 PPG (8th), I think the under still has some value here – despite the fact that these are potent offenses. I think we’ll see the defenses step it up in this one, keeping us just under the current total.
