Barcelona v Juventus Betting Preview - 2015 Champions League Final

Kick-Off: Saturday, June 6th 2015 at 2:45pm ET (7:45pm BST)
Venue: Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany
TV: TSN, Fox Sports 1 & Sky Sports

CAN the trio of “MSN” (Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar) boost Barcelona to a UFEA Champions League title against Juventus this weekend at the Olympiastadion in Berlin? One thing’s for sure – these two teams will look to employ difference tactics.

Barcelona will look to push the pace upfront with the best attack in football, while Juventus will need to try and display patience to grind down Barca and then look for counter-attacking opportunities. Put it this way – Juventus won’t win a high-scoring match.

Do you still need to join an online betting site to bet on the 2015 Champions League Final?

There are several options depending upon where you live.

Americans can bet on the match at Bovada.lv ($250 free bet), Australians can bet at CrownBet.com.au ($650 in free bets) and everyone else can bet at Bet365.com ($200 cash bonus).

Barcelona are big favorites to win the Champions League Final, but Juventus are in with a great shot at the upset. Juventus were great in the SF against Real Madrid – a team that finished just two points behind Barca for the La Liga title.

2015 Champions League Final betting preview

Both Barcelona and Juventus are looking to secure the trophy treble in the final match of the campaign.

Barcelona won the La Liga title and Copa del Rey, while Juventus won the Serie A title and Coppa Italia. Will Juventus be able to win their third Champions League title or will Barcelona be able to win their fifth title in eight attempts?

These teams last played each other in 2003, so there’s no point looking at the H2H trends for this match.

So, how did each team perform in this year’s Champions League?

Barcelona ranks 4th in goals per game in the competition at 2.33 GPG (28 goals) and 7th in average goals conceded at 0.83 GPG (10 goals). Barcelona remains undefeated (10-0-2), despite having to play Man City (R16), PSG (QF) and Bayern Munich (SF).

Juventus only ranks 14th in average goals scored at 1.33 GPG (16 goals), but they rank 3rd in average goals allowed at 0.58 GPG (7 goals). Juventus have a 7-3-2 record in the competition, but they have been in great form recently.

The Italian side had to go through Borussia Dortmund (R16), AS Monaco (QF) and Real Madrid (SF).

Messi tied with Cristiano Ronaldo for the lead in goals (10), while Carlos Tevez is 5th in goals scored (7). Neymar was right behind his team-mate with 9 goals and Suarez has 6 goals – proving that Barca have an insane amount of depth upfront.

After Tevez – the highest scorer for Juventus is Alvaro Morata (4).

Morata is expected to get the start next to Tevez in the finals – a choice I agree with. Morata is quick on the ball and he’s decisive in the attacking half. Morata is also strong on the ball and can open up the back line with pinpoint passing.

Here are the predicted line-ups for the finals between Barcelona and Juventus.

Juventus: Buffon, Lichsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Evra, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pogba, Vidal, Tevez and Morata.

The Italian side will be without Caceres, Asamoah and Romulo, while Andrea Barzagli is doubtful.

Barcelona: Ter Stegen, Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba, Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta, Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

Barca are 100% healthy and fit for the match, so it’s just a matter of who Luis Enrique decides to roll with.

Barcelona vs. Juventus best bets

Bovada is for Americans only, but Bet365 also has Barca priced at -175 (1.57) to win in the 1X2 market.

Barcelona have too much talent upfront to lose this match. Juventus have had a great season and are in the best form they’ve been in all campaign, but Barcelona are in even better form and they had a way tougher road to the Champions League Final.

Dani Alves and Jordi Alba both are offensive minded, but they have to be cautious against a counter-attacking team like Juve. With the skills of the MSN trio, the back line shouldn’t look to get involved and they should focus on keeping Tevez smothered.

I know I’m not taking a big leap with this tip or anything, but it makes the most sense in the goalscorer markets. Messi has 58 goals in all competitions this season and he has a chance to win the Champions League golden boot with a goal on Saturday.

Messi is in incredible form and the Juventus back line can’t focus solely on him.

From what I’ve been reading – Juventus may go man-to-man on the back line wit the MSN trio, which in my opinion isn’t going to be a good idea. Messi is way too shifty to play him 1-on-1 in space and I believe Messi will find his way on the score sheet.
