2017 NCAA Basketball Championship Winner Odds and Predictions

2017 March Madness Futures BetsThe 2016-17 NCAA basketball season begins on November 11th 2016. Now is the best time to lock in your early March Madness winner futures bets, as you likely won’t get a better price on the top dogs.

Villanova won the National Championship Game last season against North Carolina (77-74). Both teams are ranked within the top six in this year’s preseason AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches polls.

You can bet on this year’s college basketball season at the Bovada Sportsbook if you live in the USA. New accounts are eligible for a 50% cash bonus for up to $250 on first deposits.

Odds to win the NCAA Basketball National Championship 2017

Duke are big favorites in the futures market at less than 4/1 odds prior to the season tipping off, but as we see almost every year during March Madness, any of the top teams can go on a tournament run.

The Blue Devils have several departures, including Brandon Ingram who was drafted #2 by the Lakers in the NBA draft. However, Grayson Allen decided to stay another year, plus Coach K has recruited what’s arguably the best freshman class that includes Frank Jackson, Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum.

While the odds on Duke could conceivably worsen during the regular season, I wouldn’t advise betting on them now. Wait to see how the young roster gels and ensure the core players remain healthy.

Where is the value in the 2017 NCAAB Championship futures market?

Duke, Kansas (7/1) and Kentucky (3/1) are the three juggernauts this season in college hoops, but there is plenty of value to be had on some of the less public teams that don’t garner as much media attention.

Villanova at 20/1 look interesting, but how often does a school repeat? Florida were the last team to win back-to-back titles in 2006-07. Josh Hart is back to terrorize the Big East, but everyone on the Wildcats schedule will want to knock them off and they’ll likely be a little flat once March rolls around.

It’s going to take some time for the Cavaliers to gel this season. They have four ESPN top 100 players in this freshman class. However, once March rolls around this young and talented team will be able to beat anyone in the nation. The team also has a senior leader in starting guard London Perrantes.

Perrantes averaged 11.0 PPG last season and will be relied upon more heavily for scoring. He’s able to knock down the 3-pointer consistently, which Virginia needs, as they ranked 227th in scoring (71 PPG) last season. Virginia doesn’t need to score a ton of points, though, as they’re elite defensively.

Virginia plays at a slow pace and are extremely efficient as well, which are great traits to have in the big dance. They’ll be able to frustrate teams with the slow pace and suffocating style of play.

The Louisville Cardinals were forced to miss March Madness last season due to sanctions and I feel like they’re being overlooked by the bookies. The Cardinals are ranked within the top 15 in every preseason poll I’ve seen and many players will be hungry to play in the big tournament after missing last year.

Louisville is going to have a strong backcourt with Quentin Snider and Donovan Mitchell leading the way this season. There’s a lot of talent in the frontcourt too, but some questions remain. Will the Cardinals score enough to win the ACC? The defense will be elite, but they lack pure scorers.

Getting into the tournament won’t be a problem and the Cardinals are a deep team that could make a run in March. They’ll need to rely on strong defensive play, but they’ll also need to figure out how to space out the floor. Louisville lacks 3-point shooting, but it’s a negative they can overcome.

Put it this way, you won’t find Louisville at 40/1 once March Madness rolls around.

There are a good 20 teams that could conceivably win the 2017 NCAA Basketball National Championship this season. It’s going to be exciting and March will be here before you know it. Lock in your futures now to get the best value and then bet on the regular season all year with the Bovada Sportsbook.
