2015 NFL Super Bowl Futures Betting Lines

The NFL preseason is underway and now is the time to lock in your Super Bowl futures bets. The 2015 Super Bowl (XLIX) is going to be hosted in Glendale, Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium, so the weather isn’t going to be a problem.

Seattle dominated Denver in the 2014 Super Bowl, yet the Broncos are favorites to win the 2015 Super Bowl. That’s not a surprise, as Peyton Manning and the Broncos will bring in a lot of public money, but Seattle is definitely the better all-around team.

Top Contenders to Win the 2015 NFL Super Bowl

Denver averaged 37.9 PPG last season, which was over 10 PPG higher than any other team in the league. They lose Eric Decker, but it’s clear this offense will be #1 again during the regular season. The bigger question is how will they do come playoff time?

I actually think the offense will regress a bit, but the Broncos defense will be stronger. They added DeMarcus Ware and some great pieces to the secondary. Denver ranked 27th against the pass last season and with that improved they’ll be strong contenders again.

The “Legion of Boom” won’t be as strong as last season in my opinion, as the defense took some hits this off-season. Seattle can’t pay everyone, which has meant some key players are now gone including Browner, Thurmond, McDonald, Clemons and Bryant.

Marshawn Lynch is back and he’s the most important player on this roster. He keeps the offense chugging along and he’ll have to do that again, as the passing attack will be average at best unless Percy Harvin stays healthy and puts up Megatron type numbers.

New England allowed 21.1 PPG (10th) last season and they improved the defense a lot this off-season. Belichick must be taking notes from what the Seahawks have done. They have a scary defense now after adding Revis, Browner, Smith and Anderson to the mix.

There haven’t been improvements on offense though. Will Brady have better chemistry with his WR’s? Will Gronkowski be able to stay healthy all season? Is Brady the same QB he was a few years ago? Those are big question marks and I’m not sold on NE.

San Francisco is a top contender again this year and they should be hungry to takeover in the NFC West. Kaepernick has a healthy offensive unit. Crabtree and Davis are both healthy. Gore should have a smaller workload, which will keep him fresher for playoffs.

The defense lost a lot of talent in their secondary, but they drafted Jimmie Ward while signing Cook and Bethea. This team has had trouble staying healthy, but SF is very talented on both sides of the football and they’re definitely a Super Bowl contender.

Teams That Could Surprise Us Come Playoff Time

Come playoff time, look for an NFC North team to make a surprise run.

A lot of people like the Green Bay Packers (10/1) to win the Super Bowl now that Aaron Rodgers is healthy. GB had a great start to last season with Rodgers, but things fell apart. Even with Rodgers the Packers aren’t on the same level as Seattle or San Fran.

If you’re looking for a value play I feel that the Chicago Bears (14/1) present great odds. They had a top offense last season, but the defense was horrendous. Chicago made wholesale changes, but the secondary is weak and will likely be exposed again.

The Detroit Lions (33/1) are an interesting pick if you want a long shot. They have all of the talent in the world on offense, but they can’t seem to play consistently as a unit. Like the Bears, the secondary is weak, but the front seven should provide needed help.

If the Lions can get to the QB the QB won’t have time to air it out and beat the Detroit secondary. This team started 6-3 last year and they could be a big surprise this season. I wouldn’t bet them to win the SB, but I’d consider betting on them to win their division.

NFL Super Bowl XLIX Winner Predictions

Realistically, the 49ers could have a top 5 offense and defense by the end of the NFL season. You may think I’m crazy, as the offense struggled at times last year, but the major problem was that Kaepernick was missing a lot of players on offense due to injuries.

After Seattle won the Super Bowl last season I expect them to regress slightly due to a weaker defense and limited depth on offense that could hurt them as the season winds down. I bet on who I feel is the best team and this year San Fran is the best on paper.
