2013 BCS Championship Odds & Predictions

The 2012-13 college football season begins at the end of August this year. Before the season starts bettors can wager on what team/s they think will win the BCS National Championship. I’ve posted the latest 2013 BCS Championship mobile odds from BetOnline below for the top 15 teams. I’ll discuss the teams with the best shot at winning the title this year as well as a couple underdogs that should provide some hedging value later in the 2012-13 college football season.

• Virginia Tech +1800
• Arkansas +2000

What Team Will Win the 2013 BCS Championship?

I’m really high on the USC Trojans this season and at +450 you better bet them now. As the season nears closer the odds will be shorter on the Trojans, as public money starts rolling in. USC should have the #1 ranked offense at the end of this season and if their defense can hold up strong enough they should be crowned the Pac-12 Champions this season.

Matt Barkley will be back for the Trojans and most of his WR core will be back as well. USC is bowl eligible this season and the team expects to make it to the 2013 BCS National Championship. This team has experience, veteran leadership and exceptional talent, but they need to try and put it all together and run the table. USC has a tough schedule with lots of big games.

Alabama and LSU are the two other favourites to win the 2013 BCS Championship in the futures betting market. Both of these teams will be heavily favoured throughout the season on the point spread betting market. I expect both teams to be strong, but in the end the Tigers should prove to be the stronger team this season, as Alabama needs to replace a lot of veterans.

LSU will have a new QB this season and that should help the team. The Tigers lost the BCS Championship last season because they didn’t have a QB that could get the job done. LSU still brings back more depth at RB than most colleges and they have the best offensive line in college, which will be able to block for the running game all season long.

Oregon has been getting love in the futures market because Chip Kelly decided to come back, but the coach isn’t going to be able to help the Ducks win this season. Oregon lost their QB and RB this off-season and although they have good replacements it will be hard for this team to gel like they have in the past couple of years.

My outside pick for winning the 2013 BCS Championship is Wisconsin at +5500 odds. Wisconsin should have a more capable QB this season in O’Brien if he wins the job. Wisconsin may have the best RB in college this year in Montee Ball as well. Montee has been amazing in Wisconsin and he’ll be back this year looking to win some hardware. I think Wisconsin offers value because at +5500 we’ll be able to trade out of this bet later in the season if Wisconsin wins their early games.

• USC Trojans +450

• Wisconsin Badgers +5500
