2012 WTA Wimbledon Odds & Predictions

I recently posted my predictions for the men’s draw at 2012 Wimbledon and now I’m going to take a look at the women’s side and predict who I think will win. The great thing about the women’s draw this year has been that it has been wide open. I think the 2012 Wimbledon grand slam tournament will be wide open as well and I expect there to be numerous surprises. You can bet on the 2012 Wimbledon Grand Slam Tournament using your Android, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry or other mobile device.

• Victoria Azarenka +550

• Samantha Stosur +2500
• Venus Williams +2500
• Agnieszka Radwanska +2500
• Caroline Wozniacki +2500

2012 WTA Wimbledon Predictions

Serena Williams is favoured to win the 2012 Wimbledon grand slam although her form hasn’t been good. Serena was knocked out of the 2012 French Open in the 1st round against unranked Virginie Razzano from France. Serena lost in the 4th round last year against Marion Bartoli at Wimbledon and at +300 odds there is really no value betting on her to win the grand slam this year.

Venus Williams played in her 1st grand slam (2012 French Open) earlier this year after being injured. Williams won her 1st match as expected, but ended up losing in the 2nd round against Radwanska. Venus was also knocked out of Wimbledon last year in the 4th round like her sister and although Venus is paying +2500 I would eliminate her from your potential picks to win this year.

The favourite with the best shot to win the 2012 Wimbledon event on the women’s draw is Sharapova. Maria Sharapova just won the 2012 French Open grand slam and will be looking to make it 2 in a row at Wimbledon. Sharapova is in great form, but after her win at Roland Garros her futures odds for Wimbledon dropped a lot and she’s now only +300. Sharapova made the finals last year at Wimbledon as well and is a great grass court player.

Petra Kvitova won the 2011 Wimbledon grand slam and she’s one of the favourites this year at +350. Kvitova hasn’t been in good form this year and I don’t think she’ll win the Wimbledon again. Kvitova hasn’t won a tournament all season and she hasn’t been able to make it to the finals in any of the tournament she has played in. At +350 I think Kvitova is a good lay bet at Betfair.

The player with the most value is Victoria Azarenka in my opinion. Azarenka was upset in the 4th round at the 2012 French Open by Dominika Cibulkova and after that her futures odds for Wimbledon started increasing quite a bit. The odds have settled down a bit since, but you can still bet on Azarenka at +550 at BetOnline Mobile. Azarenka lost in the semi-finals last year at Wimbledon to Kvitova in 3 tough sets, so she’s definitely capable of winning the event this year.

• Bet on Maria Sharapova at +300

• Bet on Victoria Azarenka at +550
