This weekend NASCAR has another night race on the schedule. On Saturday night the 2012 Quaker State 400 will take place at the Kentucky Speedway. Last year was the first time that there was a Sprint Cup Series race in Kentucky. Kyle Busch ended up winning the 2011 Quaker State 400 and he’s just behind Jimmie Johnson on the betting lines. You can bet on the NASCAR race this weekend on your mobile device using the BetOnline mobile betting app.

Best Bets for the 2012 Quaker State 400

The Kentucky Speedway is 1.5 miles and when looking at recent stats from 1.5 mile tracks the two favourites in the betting odds definitely have an edge over the rest of the competition. Despite Johnson and Busch having an edge on 1.5 mile tracks they have both been unable to close out races at this distance this year.

There have been four other 1.5 mile tracks raced on already this season including Las Vegas, Texas, Kansas and Charlotte. Jimmie and Kyle haven’t won any of those races although both have been close. Johnson finished 2nd in Vegas/Texas and 3rd in Kansas while Busch picked up a 3rd place podium finish in Charlotte about a month ago.

On the four 1.5 mile tracks there have been four different winners this season. Tony Stewart won in Las Vegas, Greg Biffle won in Texas, Denny Hamlin won in Kansas and Kasey Kahne won in Charlotte. This race is hard to predict this weekend because we’re only able to look back at last year’s race in Kentucky since it was the inaugural race.

Kyle Busch dominated that race and he knows this is his best chance to pick-up a win. The Quaker State 400 is the 1st race of the last 10 regular season races known as the “Race to the Chase”. Busch has to be the best bet at +700 this weekend in Kentucky based on recent performance on similar tracks. Jimmie Johnson should also contend for a podium finish and may win the race.

Out of the four winners I listed above on 1.5 mile tracks this season I think Tony Stewart presents the most value. He hasn’t won since Fontana back in March, but he has come close including a 2nd place finish last weekend at Sonoma. Stewart is paying 10/1 at BetOnline Mobile right now. My final NASCAR picks for the 2012 Quaker State 400 are listed below.

• Jimmie Johnson +600 for 2 units
• Kyle Busch +700 for 1.5 units
• Tony Stewart +1000 for 1 unit
