2012/13 Premier League Week 2 Odds

The second week of the Premier League begins tomorrow (Saturday, August 25th 2012). There are ten matches this weekend and I’m going to take a look at the best bets on the board. While betting on the 1X2 market is fine I want punters to realize that there can be profits made outside of the traditional Premier League betting markets.

Best Bets on the Board This Weekend

Swansea vs. West Ham

West Ham won 1-0 last weekend against Aston Villa while Swansea picked up a 5-0 victory over QPR. In this match I like Swansea to get the full 3-points at 2.15 odds. West Ham struggles on the road and in their L6 away matches they’re 0-2-4.

I was impressed by the midfield play on Swansea and I think Michu is going to have a huge season. I’m backing Swansea to win the match, but if you want better odds you could look at a score/win double with Michu/Swansea (5.00).

Aston Villa vs. Everton

In this match we have several great betting opportunities. Aston Villa hasn’t won a match in their L11 now (0-5-6), but they’ll get a great chance against Everton who has struggled at Villa Park (0-4-3 @ Villa) in recent years.

Everton also has four draws in a row now in away matches, which bodes well for the draw (Priced @ 3.40). Darren Bent (3.00) is looking for his 4th goal in his L4 versus Everton while Leon Osman (7.00) is looking for his 6th career goal against Aston Villa.

Either player could score anytime in this match, but the 7.00 odds on Osman make him one of my best bets this week. He seems to find the net often against the Villans including a goal in the 1st match between these two in 2011/12.

Manchester United vs. Fulham

After Fulham won 5-0 against Norwich and Man Utd lost 1-0 Everton I’m going to avoid this match. I know punters will want to have action on this match, so I figured I’d give you my best bets for the match.

Wayne Rooney has scored 4 goals in his L3 matches against Fulham and he pays 5.00 to score 1st or 2.10 to score anytime. One other bet that stands out is Man Utd to keep a clean sheet at 2.10, as Fulham haven’t scored in L5 matches at Old Trafford.

You could also wait to back Rooney until later in the match, but you run the risk of him scoring early. Simply sign-up to a mobile betting site that offers in-play betting odds on football matches to wager on this and every Premier League match live!

Southampton vs. Wigan

One bet I made in this match is over at William Hill on their Premier League betting specials. They have Southampton to score the fastest this weekend in the Premier League at 13.00 odds. I think this bet offers tremendous value.

Wigan matches have had lots of early goals dating back to last season. In the L7 Wigan matches there has been 9 goals scored within the first 15 minutes of the match, which includes two for Chelsea last week in the 1st 7 minutes of the match.

Liverpool vs. Manchester City

Liverpool plays host to Man City at Anfield this weekend and it should be one of the best matches of week 2. My advised punt on this match is Carlos Tevez to score the 1st goal of the match at 6.50 odds.

Make sure you bet on the 1st goalscorer market at Paddy Power for this match. Paddies has a moneyback special on this match and will refund losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets if Tevez or Suarez score the last goal of the match.
