2012 NBA Finals: Heat vs. Thunder Picks

The Miami Heat just beat the Boston Celtics last night to win the Eastern Conference Finals in G7. Oklahoma City has been able to rest for a few days, as they knocked out the Spurs in G6 of the Western Conference Finals. Oklahoma City Thunder are listed as favourites to win the 2012 NBA Finals against Miami and deservedly so. You can bet on the 2012 NBA Finals on your iPhone or one of the other popular mobile devices at BetOnline Mobile.

Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Series Odds

• Miami Heat +145
• Oklahoma City Thunder -165

2012 NBA Finals Series Predictions

Oklahoma City Thunder are deserving favourites in the 2012 NBA Finals. This young Thunder team was able to knock-off Dallas in 4 games, LA in 5 games and San Antonio in 6 games in the Western Conference. OKC went down 2-0 in the series against SA, but the team dug down deep and battled back to win 4 straight games against the hottest team in the NBA.

These two teams split the season series 1-1 this year. OKC won the 1st game in the series at home as -2 point favourites and Miami was able to win at home in the 2nd game as a -3 point favourite. Both teams should be tough at home in this series and OKC may benefit from having home court advantage throughout the series if both teams win out on home court.

Oklahoma City has the better offense, but their defense is worse than Miami’s. OKC is averaging 102.9 PPG on offense while the Heat are averaging 97.9 PPG on offense. On defense Miami has been better, as they allowed an average of 91.6 PPG while OKC has given up an average of 96.7 PPG against their opposition.

Since coming back from injury Chris Bosh has made a huge impact on the Heat’s offense. Bosh will need to make a big impact in this series if the Heat wants to hang with the Thunder. Ibaka and Perkins have both had success against Miami this season and both of these big men will need to play their roles well in order for OKC to win the 2012 NBA Finals.

My prediction to win the 2012 NBA Finals is Oklahoma City. Miami has a lot of pressure to win the NBA Finals whereas OKC isn’t dealing with nearly as much media pressure. Durant and Westbrook are two of the best players in the game and I think OKC has a lot more depth than the Heat and in a 7-game series it will be hard for Miami’s three stars to keep up with the young OKC team.

• Oklahoma City Thunder to Win in 6 Games

MIA vs. OKC Game 1 Odds & Prediction

• Miami Heat +4.5 (-110)
• Oklahoma City Thunder -4.5 (-110)

I think OKC will win G1 of this series against Miami. OKC won their home game against Miami during the regular season and they should be rested for G1 on Tuesday while Miami might be a bit tired from their 7 game series. The Thunder at -4.5 is a good bet and you can always try middling it out if the Thunder have a good 1st half on Tuesday night.
