2012 Men’s Wimbledon Predictions

Novak Djokovic is the favourite to win the 2012 Wimbledon grand slam this year. Djokovic won the tournament last year and he has been dominating in almost every tournament that isn’t played on clay. Djokovic made it to the finals in the French Open, but Nadal proved to be too much for Djokovic to handle on clay and he lost the finals in 4 sets after a rain delay.

Rafael Nadal is fresh off of his victory at the French Open on clay, but he isn’t as dominate on grass. Nadal made it to the finals last year at Wimbledon, but he lost to Djokovic and many expect that to happen this year again. Nadal won his grand slam at the French Open and now its Djokovic’s turn to win his grand slam this summer before the Olympics begins.

Roger Federer is always in contentions at the grand slams and I’m sure he’ll want to try and get in the best form possible before the upcoming Olympics later this year in London. Federer was eliminated last year in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon by Tsonga and Tsonga was eventually eliminated in the semi-finals by Djokovic, so Tsonga is also a viable option to make the semi-finals.

Odds aren’t out on most markets yet for Wimbledon, but I think Tsonga finishing in the T4 is a good bet and should offer a bit of value once the betting odds are released at Bet365 Mobile. Andy Murray was the other player that made a deep run last year at Wimbledon, as made it to the semi-finals before losing against Nadal in 4 sets.

Murray is a big hitter and has played well on grass courts, but I don’t think he’s going to win and his odds on other markets will not be good because he’s expected to go deep again this year. Raonic is going to be a great player in a couple years, but I don’t think he’s going to be able to compete with the big boys on grass at Wimbledon yet.

Raonic was eliminated in the 2nd round last year at Wimbledon and I don’t expect him to do a whole lot better in 2012. It’s hard to find value on the men’s side in grand slams because the top few seeds are so much better. Djokovic should win this event and at +175 you’re not going to be able to get better odds on him anytime closer to the start of Wimbledon later this month.

• Bet on Novak Djokovic to Win at +175 for 2 Units
